I wrote to Nationwide a few months ago and said that my medical and extended travel payments where of no use as we had been told not to travel. They eventually rang me and said that they would refund the extension payments from the 23rd of March. Got a letter 3rd June to confirm cancellation, but still waiting for any refund. I tried a call to them today, but after waiting 32 minutes the phone battery died

Has anyone had any money refunded by them for cancelled policy extensions?

They told me not to renew my membership until we can travel again. That was beginning of April.Shall ring them Monday.BUSBY.

I cancelled my Nationwide Travel Insurance upgrade on their site - you need to be logged in.
I got this response from UK Insurance who provide the cover for Nationwide.
"Your upgrade(s) will be cancelled, and you will receive a refund of premium within the next 60 days.
The refund of premium is calculated on a pro rata basis from 18th March 2020, which is the date Covid-19 was classed as an anticipated event until the end of your upgrade period.
You will receive the refund of premium back to the existing payment method you originally purchased the upgrade(s) on."
So refunds in 60 days!!!
Now with Staysure.

Please let us know how you get on, as we hope to re- insure with them - hope you have better batteries than me ;)

I wrote to them asking for a full or partial refund as we would have been away for a few days (of the 66 we paid for). Received a phone call asking if we would accept a partial pro-raga refund. Did so and got nearly all of the cost refunded within a few days.
