Monday, 12 October is one of the biggest religious holidays in Spain celebrating the day of Virgen del Pilar the Patron Saint of Spain and of the Guardia Civil...... A big day in Spain.
In our early days in Spain, everything was closed to celebrate this major festival, but times have changed. Many of our local independent shops will be closed all day but the likes of Eroski, Mercadona and Dia are advertising varied opening times on the day. All the bars and restaurants will be open, so wherever you are in Spain....... Enjoy the festivities.
