Afternoon everyone, does anyone have suggestions for a coastal stopover between Nantes and Bordeaux?, Many thanks.

La Tranche Sur Mer, La Rochelle, Chatelaillon Plage.
More sites than you can shake a stick at along that coast, don't know about Aires.

Ok, a bit 'beyond' Bordeux, but I've just come up the coast from Lacanau Ocean via Royan and the ferry [50E] Lacanau is lovely [a bit pre-season at the moment though] cycle trails everywhere, pine forest, massive beach, surf etcetc. worth a look in my opinion

Is Mortagne sur Gironde too far down for you?
Bottom of the hill is the marina aire

Used it a few time when wanting a quiet stopover
Couple of eateries about and good walks

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm heading ultimately to Seville so no restrictions on where I go between here and there really. Will certainly take a closer look at all your suggestions, thanks everyone.

We have stopped a couple of times at Sanguinet south ofBordeaux on our way to Tarifa. Very pleasant and straigh5 roads feel as though it’s no detour!!

We have stayed a couple of times at Chateau de Vauban, near Blaye, on the Gironde estuary. There's two areas, one with barrier entry, separate pitches with hard standing and electric on each pitch if you want it, usual fresh/waste/black water point and drive-over waste dump if you want. Pay at the machine that operates the barrier, 5 euro per night I think.

The other area is adjacent to this, right next to the chateau, not sure of the charge but I think it was free. Not hard standing but level grass area. Facilities available, I think all free but didn't stay on that bit, not really any room for us at the time.

The chateau has vineyards and does wine-tasting etc.

Last time I stayed at the vineyard yes it was free with ehu level grass as you say very friendly host toilets around the back and water. Tasty wine had to stay 2 days  2018
