many people concoct a name based on the number plate or manufacturer/model

With your wife on that one, “the van” works perfectly for me too, but many others like naming theirs, which is also fine.

Ours is also the van, but our fridge is called Emilia and our washing machine is Wendy, not sure what the Mrs calls our TV though.

Ours is the van too. I've toyed with naming it Vangelis or Van Gogh or Van Dyke or E - van
or Vanessa or Van the Bomb or .......................... but have settled for The Van. :D2

I tried calling our previous van Harvey ( the RV ) but it didn’t catch on . With the new one we don’t bother , just “The Van “ or ‘t motorhome.

Ours has transgendered; originally called Oscar, now she's Portia.
When in our car, we can honestly say "our other one's a Portia".
How woke are we!:)

We have just donated a 2004 Bailey rambler 6 berth caravan to my sister in law that’s not required in our company anymore. She is so excited to move up from a tent that she was asking me what they should call it. I was a bit naughty and said it was already called stumpy, she’s not happy. (No idea why stumpy it just seemed a silly name)

One of our previous motorhomes was called Burt as the registration was BRT.
Our present motorhomes registration has the first two letters of my wife's initials and it would be a bit confusing to call then both Yvette Jacqueline so it's just called the camper.

Seems like us, most call their vans "The van".
just like the French all name their dogs "Van ici".:france:

My wife calls ours Holly, because it takes us on holiday (Hollyday?), I call it what it is, a van.

why would you name a MH or any vehicle, its not going to come to you if you call it , the only thing I name is my animals

Looks like the Motorhome will be christened “the van”.
I’m off to Morrison’s to buy a bottle of Cream Soda to officially name her or him?

We had a tranny. It (they?) was called Danni.

The current one is just "The Vaaan"

The Shed. It was at the start but I've just about rebuilt it now so enjoying it. Still call it the shed though

Harriet, cos she's an elderly lady of the Hymer clan, 28 this year which I believe is about 112 in car years :rofl:.

It suits her demeanor as she strolls rather than runs and puffs a bit climbing hills.

Hymie

Ours is Twinkle, the name has stuck since our first van which was a van conversion that was painted a lovely gold colour.
