Hi folks is there any campsites open along the n10 at the moment, happy with aires but the misses wants a good wash down . Some they are open until oct or dec but when you phone they are closed . Is there anyone in the road that can recommend sites please

Can't help as we always just use Aires on route up and down to Spain. Time of year won't help as many do close.
Have a "bump" 👍😁

IMO N10 best avoided I hate that road. Dual carriageway hard shoulder but limited to 80 and no overtaking if over 3.5t and if you keep to the speed limit the lorries drive right up your arse.
The A20 is much nicer far less lorries and plenty of stops just off the motorway.

Camping La Vallee de I'Indre just south of Tours in Montbazon open according to my Search for sites app, sat nav N47 .290310, E 0 .716440 Montbazon 37250, no phone number. open Apr-Dec

Sorry mossa, but we do the same. I can't remember the last time we used a French Campsite, it was that long ago. :(

Lenny, is the A20 Peage, or Non Peage please?

Cheers,

Jock. :)

When we were there last month Jenny said they are closing December, January and February for touring vans.

That was a bit of an insult Jock, even thinking I might use a toll Autoroute. :giggle:
Sorry Lenny, I should have known better...........................................................................................................how tight you really are.

A few more miles is well worth it to avoid the dreadful N10.
Really? I have to say that the best economy of any routes with the MH, has been on that (so called dreadful) N10.
Yes, it pees me off too, when Artics are coming up my backside and trying to push me forward, (but even as an experienced Artic driver), I won't be drawn in, and have to assume that they know where the speed cameras are..........................whereas I don't. :)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

We’ve stopped at Ruffec on New Year’s Day on way to Spain

About 4 hours according to my sat Nag.
You must be driving slow, adds about 50 miles much less if using the Aragnouet-Bielsa tunnel which is our preferred route to Spain.

Maybe a bit of exaggeration but much more than 50 miles at least 2 hours we did it a couple of months ago. Must be those lovely French villages with chicanes and 30kph limits 😆
