Rapido A Class
Hello, we’ve just exchanged our motorhome and are now the proud owners of a Rapido A Class 8096 DF. There’s a rocker switch on the Fiat Cab dash board near the door on the left, below and left of the vent (the button with O and I on). It seems to do nothing. The dealership had no idea what it’s there for. Does anyone know please?

Do you have an alarm? Could be the switch for a bike loop, wire threaded through bikes on a rack connected to alarm.

We've got a similar button that activates a fan to circulate air around the cab. I think it helps to de-mist the extra large windows of an a-class.

It could also be to switch the radio's power between the cab battery and the hab battery.

Yes, but no bike rack so probably not. Thanks anyway.

Aha, maybe. We’re stopping for the night soon so we’ll give it a go. Thanks.

Self ejector seat switch for the wife?

These are widely available 12v switches and could've been added for anything. Can you trace the cables and see where they lead?

Similar switch on later models turns on/off the radio but is mounted next to the driver.

Have you experimented? "keep it clean"

I've a similar one in my 8090df so I can turn the radio on and off, my radio is connected to the lesuire battery.

I had a similar switch on a previous van, it allowed the radio to be switched on when the ignition was switched off. I tnought it switched between engine and hab battery, but on investigation, both feeds came from the engine battery.

I have the bike loop with no bike rack fitted, the loop can be used for other things like table and chairs to save you packing away each night.
Have a look under the back for a socket.

Best program on TV ever and ever and ever, nothing has ever beaten Thunderbird's, I had a Thunderbird suit as a kid and watched all the programs, loved the pods.

Sorry off topic however when you taste an old addiction...... well......

Interesting, righto we’ll take a look in the light. Just had the journey from hell up through Scotland in snow!! Thank you.

Actually they were brilliant in every way and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. It’s just that one button so I’m guessing it’s not factory fitted or I think they would have known.
