I have just tried creating an album within this site and attempted to upload photos but failed dismally as my photos are too big.

How do you go about getting around this ?

It does that occasionally.

It's usually a connection issue so the upload process times out.

Leave it for a while and try again.

Just tried again and it only took 3/4 of a nanosecond to upload (i saw it go up to 100%) so my internet connection is fine.
I know the photos were taken on 20 million pixels or something similar. Would this be the issue ?

It might be at the server end rather than your end.

The resolution of the image is irrelevant.

I've uploaded fairly large files here with no problems and I've had the "image is too large" message with tiny tiny little files.

Cheers Nick,

More patience and knowledge required my end

I don't know what the problem is but I had problems also this morning attempting to download pictures.

I tried uploading my own files and it failed. Only a little icon scrolling for a few seconds and then nothing.

In the end uploaded to a photo sharing site and then loaded using the URL file.

I use an app called photo resizer when posting pictures to the forum which reduces the size by up to 95%...
For a forum or web viewing then 800 x 600 pixels is perfectly adequate.

I always reduce the size when posting on line, I usually use Microsoft Office Picture Manager, very easy to do in that, or you can use Google's Picasa again very easy.
