Never seen a hawk so close up before, good luck with the training and look forward to reading how you get on.
When we lived in Huddersfield a racing pigeon landed on our conservatory roof, it came down and landed on the steps and through the tag on its leg we traced the owner to a club in Barnsley. The pigeon had got lost on its first race. Rang the owner up who asked that we take his pigeon and keep it in our conservatory overnight and he would come and collect it next day. Now you might think me awful but there was no way I was gonna keep any bird in my conservatory for fear of it messing everywhere so we got a large box, put air holes in it and left it weighed down outside. To cap it all the owner said the bird would like some egg fried rice to eat from the Chinese, he must of thought we were a bird and breakfast . A few days later we had a kestral land in the back garden, its owner put an advert in the local paper and that was amazing to watch him trying to capture the bird and thankfully we didnt have anymore landings after them two.
