Like Being able to know the temperature inside your absorption fridge. Saves having to open it and letting the cold air fall out and the warm air rush in.

I could have recessed it in the facia. Just easier this way.

Too cold.
Fridge should be 5°c

Never going to happen.

All Domestic refrigeration appliances have a differential, usually around 3°c.

Why so many people panic when they see 8°c on the thermometer.

The plant should switch off at 2c and back in at 5c but on domestic non fan assisted fridges the temperatures are going to be all over the place depending where the probe is.
Also factor in the stat might be an auto defrost (wide differential) model and the fridge temperature will be anybodies guess (n)

I've refound the danfoss service thermostats info online. Note how thermostat No. 4 when turned to its coldest setting should keep the evaporator between - 5c and - 11c. Yeah right only place that's going to happen is at the north pole

No,

Thats our evap temperatures. Correct they are, you have to have and evap TD to get it to cool.

Yes I know. There's no way the evaporator will pull down to - 11c. It has a right job going below zero. Usually just condensates.

Mind you danfoss have to make them compatible with all absorption fridges... And some of them probably DO work

I put one on my freezer door with an alarm. I drilled the door with a really small drill bit, the same size as the cable, then unsoldered the probe off the circuit board and shortened the wire before resoldering it. Then a bit of silicon sealant on the inside where the wire comes through. I attached the thermometer with a magnet so it can be removed to replace the battery.
PS don't let wife see you drilling a hole in the door... Ann went mental :love:

My wife just assumes I know what I am doing, dare not tell her the truth.:D

Good idea about shortening the wire, thanks.

Got one of these in the van fridge:

Look at this on eBay

It either hangs in a shelf or stands up and has max/min temperature displayed all the time.
