Thinking about fitting mudflaps to my Burstner Lyseo; Ducato cab and chassis. Saw these on fleabay. Has anyone ever fitted these, was it easy? Other ideas? Assume I'm useless at DIY when replying!😁

Front, rear or both?

Can’t comment about the rear but the genuine Fiat ones for the front (available on eBay etc.) were the best fit to the wheel arch and stop gunge spraying up the side of the van. If installed with the supplied clips alone they can have a gap at the top outside, so I put a bead of mastic along the contact area, used some mini clamps to hold on place overnight, and then fitted the clips.

On my previous 2007 Ducato, I started to get paint bubbling on the door sill behind the front wheels. I had it repaired and fitted front mudflaps. The Citroen/Peugeot ones were far cheaper than the Fiat ones.

Looks and does good, was it necessary to remove the wheels to install - and can you estimate the time it took to fit?

Front ones fitted in about 20 mins. Easy access just by steering the wheels to the side. No drilling required. Although it does use metal clamps on to painted bits of bodywork. I applied rust prevention spray just in case it broke through the paint.

Wheels can stay on and fitting would be a 30 minute job normally, but on my 2022 Ducato the top outer part didn’t make good contact with the wheel arch when just using the supplied clips. Hence the bead of black mastic on the inside of the contact area and leaving overnight to cure. The bottom clamps on each mud flap will hold them in place vertically, and I used a couple of smallish woodworking/welding clamps to keep the offending part in contact with the arch while the mastic cured. Only then did I use the supplied clips to complete the job although I think they’re pretty redundant now.

I had mud flaps installed on my Citroen Relay but had to remove the rear ones after a while as they were fouling the wheels.

The front mudflaps I fitted just clamp on, no drilling.
For the rear on our "C" class I made some from some rubber conveyor belt as it has reinforcing down the middle so stays stiffer and doesn't flap about so much as the rally car type ones I first fitted.

I was going fit those Andy on rear of my Adria, but both Ebay adverts are out of stock, and looking on other sites they doubled in price so I fitted these yesterday with graphics. They cost £17 off fleebay and did have to cut to size as 40 x 30 was wrong way, needed 30 x 40 🙈 Came out well though in the end !
