Can I just add that I use a compressor to blow mine out, I unscrew the shower head and connect the compressor to that. Set tap to cold, open all other taps on cold and start compressor, then do the same on the hot side.

I usually unscrew the end of the showerhose and then leave all the taps open........

Only in this case I left the blooming showerhose attached and the entire mixertap and hose froze solid.

Drain water, open drain tap for boiler/heater, run the pump to purge water and leave all taps open.

Take out all bottles of water, or anything else that could freeze, split and make a mess when they defrost.

Empty and rinse cassette and replace, but leave the blade slightly open as well.

If you have a submersible pump in the tank that has a built-in non-return valve take it off the pipe or pipe will not drain. Also shake the water out of the pump at both ends.

Don't forget when leaving mixer taps open to leave them in the central position.
