I have substantial mould appearing in all the mastic joints. the vehicle is only 18 months old. Has anyone else had this problem and did you get the supplier to rectify?

Welcome to the forum
Mould is usually lack of ventilation and not usually a warranty issue
Is the issue in areas behind beds and in cupboards rammed full of stuff whilst in storage?

I'm assuming you mean the external joints rather than anything internal, if so it may be that the mastic used was faulty.

Yes it's all external. The motorhome supplier is telling me this is normal and not a warranty issue.

many many years! since I was a kid
An awful lot of vans about with discoloured mastic in the joints. First try a strong mix of traffic film remover, followed by plenty of water. In extreme cases scrape the joint out and use white spirit to clean up. Then reapply high quality sealant

Was a Newbie but getting the hang of it now.
1758Alfie welcome aboard from a fellow 202 owner!
We have mould spotting on the mastic outside on ours.
When cleaning the front screen last week I used some "Bug Remover" and noticed that it cleaned the spotting off very easily.

We had this with our benimar. Its not a serious issue. Its just a bit unsightly and the mould does stain the white sealant.

There must be something in the sealant that attracts the mould to grow on it.

You can save money by using some warm diluted bleach (which is all mould removers are really - oxidising agents). Just apply some bleach for just a short time. It will kill off any mould spores and also whiten the area. Only leave it on for a short time though as bleach (sodium hypochlorite) will damage the sealant if left in contact for long periods. Rinse it off thoroughly. A short sharp exposure won't harm it. Make sure the bleach doesn't go anywhere else.
