Motorhoming YouTubers worth watching.

Can anyone recommend a channel that focuses on the actual overnights anywhere in the UK or right across Europe, ie. where they stay, the look and feel of the place, the cost and any facilities as applicable? I’m just trying to get an idea of what I’ll find before I get there.

Most of the channels that I have checked out appear to focus on what they had to eat, what they encountered along the way and what their dogs are doing. I’m not being critical of that at all because clearly it would appear it is driven by market demand, it’s just not what I was hoping to find.
Have a look at Field View Adventures - thay have been travelling down through France to Spain. Yes you do get some of the dog but also where they are visiting and the sites (mainly aires) they are using.

Yes, I do find them both entertaining and the videos are of interest. Although, like all of these bloggers they struggle for content resulting in the same sort of theme day in day out. Although credit to these guys they show the sites they are staying on, add links for you to get there or look further into if you want to visit and normally give a good tour of surrounding area.
The inclusion of the little dog, Boo does entertain me and I love how he gets excited when he gets near a beach. What does bother me is the 14 year old Son, all he ever does is sit in the corner of the Motorhome on his phone. They state he is being home schooled, not sure when. Education only forms a small part of development, he needs time to be with people of his own age to explore and have fun teenage years. It just doesn’t seem right for the lad to be in the van with his parents 24/7

A bit like the Rucks home schooling. It looked like it was mostly colouring in. 🤣

Try travelling with kids...BUSBY

I tend to prefer any with dogs, and don't bother with UK touring as we don't do any.
Campervibe I watch religiously, even though they are at their cottage in Ireland at present. Lou is amazing , never fails to impress with her ability to tackle any job, and I like their unending cheerfulness and witty style.
Some others irritate me with their constant 'amazing' or worse still "mad" or "insane" these are all apparently meant as complimentary as in indeed 'sick' when referring to the food in a restaurant ( they liked it apparently)

Me too. Met the Campervibe girls this time last year in Portugal when AJ had 4 legs and they were waiting for their property to complete in Ireland. It's funny how some myths get busted, Lou likes to make out Emily struggles to get up in the morning, but it was usually her doing the first dog walk of the day.

If you've met them, have you ever seen Lou without her hat. It's a sort of running joke with them. My theory is that she is bald and those pigtails are fixed to the hat. It could just be a really bad haircut.
A schoolfriend of my number 2 son in his teens was never seen without a hat his reason was that he had really good auburn wavy hair and he thought it made him look a poof.

Yorkshire Pop Top Adventures does quite a few UK site reviews. He has a small van, but many of the sites would be fine for larger motorhomes too.
If you look at some older Camper Vibe videos they also review (2 minute tours!) quite a few sites in the UK and across Europe.
Thanks. I’ll check them out and see what I can find.

I think most you tube offerings that were made before vloggers thought they were special and famous do offer info re aires and routes etc. they seem now to think that isnt what watchers want and concentrate instead on what they eat or or where they eat.

Don't worry too much about what you'll find, it really is simple, if it's full or 'not what you want/expected' just move on.

You will soon get the hang of it. If you give a brief idea if where you want go, which route and time of arrival in Europe, then I'm sure people will offer some ideas. The first night is bound to be a bit of an adventure so I would suggest trying to get settled in early afternoon if you can
The dealer has onsite overnighting for service related things and I’m hoping to stay there on day one after we take delivery. It won’t be so far to go back if I find anything that I miss at hand over.

Sounds interesting and I’ve added them to my list. Thanks.

Don't be silly, that one isn't a myth 😂😂
Emily does do her exercises though, weights and mat outside the van and did get used.

Just get out in your own van, make a recording of your adventures, not for anyone else. Then periodically look at them and have a good laugh.

I have done this sometimes, strictly for our consumption though. The early ones are about 3 hours. Then I discovered its much better to make short ones perhaps covering just one place of interest, maybe nearer 5 minutes.

Yes, years ago I was told 4 to 5 minutes was long enough for a video.

Stumbled across Pughs on Tour this afternoon, what a potty mouthed woman😫 Who could find them in anyway entertaining. It’s like car crash YouTube, I couldn’t believe what she was saying and had to watch more. It’s like a sketch from Little Britain

I see those happy days have now got their forever new motorhome. :giggle:
It's a nice van but for full time van living I'm not sure.....
Very uncomfortable watching him apologise for all his crazy decisions and what he'd put her through as he hung on to her with his arm around her.
Didn't hear any mention of taking the new van to the USA. Was that just another crazy idea?

If that happens I think it will be final straw for her as mentally she is on the edge , others seem to have similar worries going by the comments :(
Every new thing or place he comes up with she is there saying it's the best thing or place she has ever seen ,never anything is her idea.
Just don't know how she puts up with him.

Like them or not their new van is a beautiful piece of engineering. I’ve seen a few Consort’s now and they all look stunning and interestingly the owners all seem very happy with them.

Not that it’s any of my business but I would love to know they (and others) manage to afford the lifestyle. I don’t watch them regularly but they never appear to talk about jobs which would suggest they are living off YouTube and whatever other social media they do? I’m no expert but surely you need viewing numbers in the hundreds of thousands to earn an income comparable to an average salary? Perhaps I am wrong.

The van they have just bought alone must be upwards of 70k, then tax, insurance, fuel etc so not cheap by any stretch. Fair play to them I suppose if they can make YouTube pay and not have to worry about working etc.

No doubt it will be back on the market shortly when they find another 'forever' van.
Noticed that she couldn't find anything to enthuse about apart from a soap dish on suckers above the sink. Probably a fiver on ebay.

I couldn't believe what I was watching, that van is almost identical to our old self built ex ambulance inside.
He was going on as if it was all a new idea, I thought all pvc were the same.

They have enough subscribers and views to bring in a reasonable income. I know there are plenty of other youtubers making it pay with far less viewers. They also have sponsors for items they recommend in their videos. This can bring in a lot. I guess they might have some kick back/discount from Consort too. I know they were lent their previous van by a company and were allowed to make alterations to it.

I don't envy the work that goes into constantly make videos to keep this going though. It can be more than a full time job to produce a good and interesting video.

They do some sort of vegan weirdness too, can't remember what but it's another income. Surprised they don't have a coffee business like all the other vanlifers!

I really like watching them, common as muck, no airs and graces, not telling anyone how they should live, travel etc. and they've both had more than their fair share of medical issues.

I watched an american you tuber recently on his future wife's channel & he mentioned that she had just exceeded 100k subscribers which earnt her a 100k income without any sponsors, patreons, & no merchandise sales.
once you get ion to mid to high six figure subscribers, sponsors, patreons & merchandise some of them have trouble with what to do with the money.A couple I watch off grid in Canada are a prime example.Another couple in Northern Idaho also living off grid are another who started out with campers & building there own .Both these are extremely watchable, informative & now have huge subscriber bases such that sponsors fall over themselves to get products on to there channels.
