Good afternoon All
Im considering buying a cover for my Eldiss autoquest 140
Q Are they worth the money and do they help keeping the inside from getting damp.
Q any recommendations for suppliers would also be a great help.

Regards
Alex

Motorhome covers are best described as a bit Marmite on here however if used on a freshly washed motorhome & secured well then the Maypole breathable ones are excellent & affordable https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/winter-covers-for-motor-homes.180115/#post-2934348 & generally last around 3 years. Specialised Covers -Broken Link Removed- are a popular but much more expensive option.
Searching on the forum will bring up lots of feedback both positive & negative.

We used one when we had the van in store. It helped keep it clean but was a pain to store when not in use and difficult to put on unless there was zero wind. Had a serious issue when it had snowed despite being in an open barn, the snow had settled on top, then frozen meaning the cover was well and truly stuck.

Got one and use it all the time over winter. Ours is a Protec and its the premium . No doubt It can be a pain to put on but we are more than happy with its performance in keeping it dry and leaf free. Ours is custom made so doorways and extra material for sat dome and clear panels for solar whilst in storage were added us . When we come to remove it for the spring onwards...we just leave it over the washing line and let it dry if damp ..then roll it up and put it back in its bag! No different to having an awning and putting that away to be honest.

The Tourershine guy suggested we buy one to protect the MH paintwork/bodywork through the winter as it is parked South facing. It seemed a rational suggestion having just paid to have the paintwork restored.

I haven't bothered but that doesn't mean to say I disagree, just not got around to it.

As others have said I cannot believe a cover will prevent damp anywhere near as good as ensuring good air circulation. Indoor storage would be better at preventing moisture retention.

I cover the motorhome with just a top cover. It’s brilliant and protects the roof, roof vents and keeps the green moss at bay.

We have a caravan that came with a bespoke full cover .

Both are brilliant.

I can look up the manufacturers if you like.

I have posted photos here .

We had a caravan for 8 years, the last year we owned it we bought a protec cover and the curtains got mildew on them. It kept the van very clean though, in the spring when uncovering it was like the day I washed it 🤩

Why do you not just keep using the ‘van…….you wouldn’t need to cover it then….?:xwink:
