I'm a newbie
Good morning,
First post as I am looking out for a motorhome at the moment. This site has provided some interesting reading - thanks.
The tunnel website is a little confusing.
Can you take motorhomes with a weight greater than 3500kgs on the car train or do you have to use the freight service?
Thanks,
Lloyd

not long enough
all motorhomes, right up to RV's are classed as camping cars, they all go in with the cars and coaches, so well in on weight, the bigger you buy the better value it will be on the tunnel, all charged the same

Welcome BTW :)

problem is with eurotunnel website, used to allow motorhome to be selected but now classes as van and asks if u r over 3.5t and redirects to commercial. I just ignore and stick at 3.5 when ours is 4t. This was yesterday when i was booking frequent traveller journe for month end.

If you check the options on type of vehicle you get Campervan. That's the one you use to avoid going to the Commercial page. No weight questions.

When selecting the vehicle type always select campervan - never select van

As above - choose campervan and you will be OK. Although they go on the same train as cars motorhomes are not in the same double decker coaches. Instead we go with the coaches and other high vehicles in the single deck coaches. That also means you get a wider entrance to swing into.
