I’m thinking of getting a cover for the winter but there are lots to choose from and very different reviews some good some bad.

Any suggestions and or reviews of ones you have ?

What do you have on your roof that the cover may rub on - aerial, dish, solar, etc.?

We had our Arto professionally cleaned and detailed....Tourershine...and they did not recommend using a cover unless the motorhome was absolutely spotless.

I wouldn't they are known for rubbing the paintwork and scratching windows and roof lights.
A right pain to take off everytime you want to use the van and if you want to keep your van in good condition you need to take it for a drive every few weeks.

I would cover mine if I knew, or was concerned I had a leak, but not otherwise. They will cause damage.

I’m about to purchase a cover since I have no option at home but to park it under trees with a very active bird population It will probably be from ProTec since they feature soft linings and an easy fit system

I have mine in my drive and never cover it as I take it for around a 20 to 30 miles drive every two weeks and open the hab door and windows for an hour or two on all dry fine days.

After the (2ndhand) safari room, a cover was the most pointless purchase we made.Unless you are by the sea or have to park under trees I wouldn't bother. It was a right faff to take off and put on before and after trips when you have plenty of other things to do.Plenty of reasons to keep using it during the winter

We used Pro a Tec cover on our our 04 Concorde Liner, didn't wash and polish before installing it and got the tiger effect and it removed the paint form the bus wing mirrors. Next winter season washed and polished the bus before installing it and put bubble wrap on the wing mirrors, looked fantastic when we removed the cover at the end of the winter season. Had the bus for eleven years and got what we paid for it new when we PX for a new Liner. Now a days we have put the last two buses in a warehouse for the winter season, well we go skiing for the season, just about to get it out of storage ready for set summer adventures in Europe.

I used to have a cover for my VW campervan.
The first one, I bought from just kampers and the wind ripped it to shreds. Only the fasteners were left on one side.
I then replaced that with a tailor made cover by Protec who advertise in the CAMC.
Although it was a stronger breathable material, it rubbed the paintwork and made it fuller and also scratched in places.
I’m not sure I’d buy one for my Motorhome after that.
