Motorhome step not working - Roller Team auto roller 70 2001 model - (Fiat Ducato) (1 Viewer)

Help needed urgently - this happened just before we were going to sell her (Gem).
Electric step stopped working - staying open and making a high pitch whining noise when engine turned on.
Anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it.
For info, I have attached photo of Gem. Thank you.

The noise is probably the step out buzzer.
Could be the microswitch on the step but more likely the nylon gear wheels in the gearbox have stripped some teeth.
Some models you can take the gear wheels off and replace them in a different position otherwise a new gear set.

The step on our motorhome stopped retracting with the engine running and just the buzzer sounding weakly. It would still open and close with the manual switch though. I found the problem was due to a blown 20A fuse on the step control circuit board. So could your problem possibly be due to a blown fuse?
