Ford fix and go on ours too!

We could get to the next layby on 5 of our 6 wheels if we had a totally unfixable blowout though!!!

Its nice to have the extra payload!::bigsmile:

fix n go crap which incidentally has a use by date.
so i got a wheel and tyre from scrap yard.
ok so its not the same width tyre but its weight loadings are good enough bit like a space saver really besides its a steel one so be a case of put it on till the other is fixed.

My spare is in the garage locker .. Although a bit of a pain to get out I MUCH prefer the comfort of knowing it is there should I need it..

Two methods, assuming a blown out nearside front tyre-

Method one-

Remove 1x wheel from back axle, fit to front, limp onto safe place to spend the night.

Method two-

Take Shell, kids, both dogs and the entire supply of Fray Bentos pies and place them in the offside or the garage. The weight transfer will lift the nearside front off the ground to allow us to limp to a safe place to spend the night! Simples!::bigsmile:

( I suspect method one will be more effective! )

question

Does anyone Know if it against the law not to carry a spare wheel? Could one carry just the tyre? (need to consider weight):winky:

Happy Christmas ::bigsmile:riving2:

No requirement to carry a spare.

That's why many new cars and vans are only supplied with a puncture repair kit and compressor.:thumb:

According to the AA, flat tyres only rank 3rd in the top 10 causes of breakdowns.

1st and 2nd are flat batteries and lost keys!

How many of you carry a spare starter battery or your spare set of keys?:roflmto:

I've got the gunge in, as no spare wheel, and it doesn't effect the balance, presumably evenly spread by centrifugal forces as the wheel rotates.

Tyre Gunge!!

Hi Nearlyretired, thanks for the info. where'd you get it done? and if i may be so bold:Blush: what did it cost. i see you can buy the bottles of a number of different types for between £35 - £60 to suit a motorhome.
