Hi Guys

If there was a large motorhome show on the weekend of April 5th/6th 2008 would you go (either as a day visitor or camper) ?

It would be around 25 miles south of Bristol and with very easy access off the M5.

The show would have approx 250 traders, with bars, restaurants etc on-site.

Day Visitor pricing £5 (£2.50 if pre-purchased) and 3 night camping averaging £49 (with after-show rates at £7/night).

What are your thoughts ?

Thanks
Paul

Hi Dave,

No, the proposed Show dates are 3 weeks before Peterborough.

In fact, there isn't much to see either side of April 5th/6th :winky:

March 15-16 2008
UK Caravan & Motorhome Spring Fair
Newark Showground

March 21 - 23 2008
Caravan and Motorhome Show
Bath Racecourse

April 5 - 6 2008
Motorhome Show?
Somerset

April 25 - 27 2008
National Motorhome Show
East England Showground,
Peterborough

The suggested show dates of April 5th/6th fall 2 weeks after the Easter Bank Holidays.

Paul

PS Linda - have PM'd you, but you will know that already.

Come on chaps and chapesses,

Give us some feedback - do you think it's a good or bad idea ?

Would you be interested in going or don't you visit the shows - maybe you only do 1 or 2 specific shows every year.

Please let us know either way - your input is really appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Without being a wet blanket I tend to think there are enough shows and this would be very close to Peterborough which IMHO is one of the best ones. ::bigsmile:

I find a couple of shows a year is enough for us one early on and one towards the end of season just to keep up with whats new. All shows are pretty much the same and the entertainment at some I've been to is absolutely awfull except the Americana booking for next year already.

Thanks for the replies !!

I understand the comments on there being too many shows. But, consider that those shows are spread throughout the UK.

When you think how many are in the South West during a 12 month period, there aren't many at all.

Peterborough is 200 miles (4hrs with tea break :Smile:) from the proposed show location.

This show COULD appeal to everyone living in south Wales, south of Cheltenham and west of Swindon - that's a huge area of potential MHers.

Cardiff = 60miles (Peterborough = 190miles)
Cheltenham = 65miles (Peterborough = 135miles)
Swindon = 70miles (Peterborough = 115miles)
Truro = 140miles (Peterborough = 330miles)

It definately won't be competing with Peterborough on size (well not for the first 2-3 years anyway ::bigsmile:) but could offer cheaper entrance for visitors and HUGE discounts for traders (80% off typical show rates).

Any other views/comments please guys?

Paul,

I think you might have left it a bit late now to get a show up and running for April 2008. :Sad:

Many traders are already committed for next year 2008. Don't forget it's not just motorhome shows you will be competing with.:Smile:

Also that early in the year the weather could be a big consideration.

I hope you get it up and running,::bigsmile: If all goes to plan we will be in Crete. :thumb::thumb:

Regards

Don
