Yes, TVL are the parent company, who sell to the trade. I spoke to their business development manager at a conference last year and he gave me a good price on the plates. I could ask him if he would be prepared to offer a similar discount to Funsters if anyone's interested.

I did look into using a strap but it wasn't practical for my van as I have a separate living/cab area separated by a bulkhead.

I ended up fitting my own deadlocks which I bought from http://www.van-locked.co.uk

For me physical prevention and making it as inconvenient and as risky as possible comes before alarms. Followed by Alarms, followed by clever gadgets.
Exactly what i fitted to our MH on the front two doors , the had door had a famila lock already fitted to the MH.
I always lock the dead locks when we leave it and at night.
I fitted these after seeing how easy it was to break into a Fiat

They have the same 'contact us' address as protectavan
http://www.protectavan.co.uk/vehicles/fiat/ducato-sept2006-present/ducato-sept-2006-present-proplate
which does have the prices on.

I emailed them last night as I wanted to confirm that the plates only need to be fitted to the doors which have a key locking mechanism. Chris from ProtectAVan replied at 7.30 this morning to confirm that this is indeed the case.

Fairly reasonable for me as only 2 out of the 4 handles on my van have a lock.

I always keep my Fenix Cree torch under my pillow , enough to near blind any intruder, as well as alarm set.

Which model of Fenix do you have ? I looked online but there are loads to choose from

I fitted some Yale deadlocks after finding the offered Abus ones were far too expensive, I welded up a fitment that stepped the lock ou to the correct distance and fitted one to each door of the Hymer, The left door is a special the would have been the drivers door and had a place for the lock but just too close to the outer skin to get the lock into it hence the tigwelded alloy tube spacer. The hab door was anther one that needed a wooden block made to space out the lock to catch the edge of the body. These are really good security locks and only cost £14 each for the basic lock with the yale key set. I am going to fit a pair to the rear garage doors for when we are parked up so that we do not depend on the plastic catch variety fitted.
Sounds good, could you upload some photos please.

I just purchased the above. I only bought it as I have 4 spare rechargeable 18650 batteries and I wanted something small to carry in my pocket. Seems cheap enough.

If you buy your own deadlocks from a lock specialist they are not expensive but make sure you get "key alike "so they use same keks and ask for "long throw" as they come out further from lock into door frame.I then got some alloy plates from E-Bay to go over outside.Used them on side/front doors but not on back as unsuitable so got a fancy "hasp and staple "and attached to inside of back doors with a stick on sign on doors saying "bolted from inside"-every little helps!
