We were extremely satisfied with Regal.

As Wildax agreed to build our present van to our specification, vastly modifying their Aurora model so we have two twin beds in rear (with slide out if we want to make a double) which can also be used in daytime as lounge area, we had free choice of upholstery fit at Regal. During build all was chosen over phone with Regal - we specified we wanted white leather with blue trim for drivers, passenger and dinette seating and white suedette for rear beds/bench lounge seats. They sent samples in post of various blues for trim as well as the white leather and suedette. When van was delivered (2012) we were over the moon with interior fit (and still are! - looks as good now and still looks like new despite being white!!!!)

When we wanted to re-upholster and re-curtain interior of boat kept in Brittany we actually took all boat seating in motorhome up to Regal, stayed night before in their car park with EHU, in morning chose from vast selection material for upholstery and curtains and by mid afternoon all was packed up in van ready to take back to France.

We would not hesitate in using Regal again in the future.

My seats are just faded and I would really like to dye them darker again, but it is not possible as it is a rayon /nylon mix and the dies do not touch the stuff, pity as the material is fine just the sun fading it in places. I would not want to spend a £1000 on a few seats as it would only be a cost and not add value.

Haven't had either Moho reupholstered but we did have our Hymer caravan redone. All the cushions came out so we just looked up a local furniture upholsterer, arrived, we'd brought all the cushions home - he said yes so we chose a material, he quoted a couple of £100, and that was that.

What I chose (without knowing the price - this happens with ALL soft furnishings and wallpaper LOL) was the most expensive one he ever used, meant to be used on a three piece suite in a house with a full family who could use it every day for years and it would be fine LOL Consequently in a caravan - it looked as good 5 years later as it did on Day 1 !

So if they are loose cushion seats Gway - you may get off a bit cheaper than 4 figures.

Hidi Ho campers!
Were looking into getting Mertle the Merc re-upholstered sometime over the next few months. Theres nothing actually wrong with the interior, however as the van is 1990 (G Reg) its looking somewhat outdated now. Theres Pink & Beige florals as far as the eye can see!!

Based here in the sunny midlands, has anyone got any recomendations who to use or where to go? Ive been looking on Regals website, which all looks quite daper, but are there any others that people have experienced? What materials did you opt for? (Vinyl or fabric) Anything to avoid? Being a rather pricy venture its something id like to get right first time. (y)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for that Sedge, we used to have a couple of companies in Dover that did automotive seat covering for the then BMW importers and then Daihatsu when they were imported through her along with Toyota and FIAT. These companies all moved away from Dover and the upholstery companies went down the drain . There were some brilliant people working there but I do not how to contact them now as a lot of water has passed under bridge since then , probably like me retired and defunct. I think it might be worth asking on Facebook on our local page as a lot of answers come through that media, I just never actually thought of it until you reminded me. There is NO WAY, I could afford the specialist prices.

We are having ours done at the moment in Portugal less than half the price of Regal and so far they make a better job.
We have been winter ring in Portugal and had this recommended to us.
Will post photos when completed.

So where are the photos and are you happy with the results????:)

Think Harris Tweed would be extremely hard wearing - but most likely mega scratchy to sit upon ?

Leather looks great, but the trouble is with any light colour real or faux leather - if it isn't blue before someone wearing jeans (and I don't mean just new ones they can have been washed for years beforehand) sits on it - then the upholstery will be blue after they've sat on it. Other colours also transfer from other thick cotton garments.

Problem with leather for me is its slippery and probably not good for sleeping on! Looks gorgeous though...
