Motorhome Insurance

These days your a number, online search every year, I have no loyalty as they have none also. As long as the cover is like for like, and that is not s simple as one might imagine, search and search again. I regret to say laziness in this market by not doing a search has a cost, if your prepared for that cost auto renew. It's not for this tight wade

Try Comfort. Just renewed at same price as last year. They also do breakdown cover. I find them a pleasure to deal with.

It’s worth ringing them just to hear the recorded message..........a fine example of a south Essex accent that always makes me smile.:LOL:;);)

Has anyone got a better quote than from Caravan and Motorhome Club? My first renewal has just shot up from £800 to £1,100!
they quoted me £3300 for a 1st timer.
Comfort £285!

wow surprised at the values being written on here. My quotes went from £1000 to nearer £300 but mainly because no claims discount available due to being newbie and 1) said I need to keep my car 2) can't transfer that discount to Van.

Seems like I need to try Comfort too ! :D

Another vote for comfort. Have been with Saga and Safeguard but Comfort for about 4 years now. I always price match just in case but even after changing to a brand new van last year it only went up £20.

I won't change for £25 but this year I have moved to Safeguard which was cheaper than my previous and comes with European breakdown from the AA.

Another vote for Comfort, still over £50 less than any other I tried before renewal but with lower damage excess, lower windscreen excess and better breakdown cover. Perfectly happy with the modifications, air assist suspension, refillable gas and no loading for my wifes newly diagnosed Type 1 Diabetes.
Always easy to deal with and spot on with documents emailed within seconds of renewal.

Just spoken to Comfort. They are insisting I have Cat 5 or 6 Tracker fitted due to my age (74+). Had a look at Trackers and they hugely expensive!!!

That's odd. The requirement for a tracker is usually based on vehicle value as opposed to your age. Maybe they think that as you're getting older you're likely to forget where you left it ::bigsmile:

I think a few funsters have the smartrack tracker, and you can make a one off payment for a lifetime subscription if you're planning on keeping the van for a while, which makes it better value. Like this one

Just insured with Lifesure - £300 for first timer, with Legal and excess cover, also uprated from 3500 to 4000 on my Chausson 628 with no hassle so up to now, would recommend

It appears that the Tracker requirement is because the base vehicle of my MH is a Ford Transit which are being stolen to order for spares.
Yes if Ford you need tracker , just bite bullet

I'm personally not a fan of comfort, after a long call they tell you that you need a tracker, end of conversation. Found them arrogant. Safeguard, Saga or NFU dont require a tracker on my van. NFU have been good but they do like other items insured with them.
