I'm in a similar boat (well, van?) getting quotes in at the 'mo (collecting at the end of the month, yay!).
C&CC was the most expensive (Equity Red Star).
Insurance Factory was the cheapest (Highway Insurance Company).
Safeguard (Allianz), Comfort (?) and Caravanguard (Royal Sun Alliance) were all within £100 of each other. I know the '..guard' ones are specific to the industry, (as is C&CC) so specify cover for contents (furnishings I believe, not personal items) and awnings.
Also consider your breakdown cover, some quote with, some quote as etc. Just checked with RAC and my van supplement does NOT cover a motorhome.

I thought 5 quotes was enough for now....

You appear to have missed two of the most praised ones
NFU (Louth Office for best service)
and RH Specialist insurance Services

Have used Saga for a few years and found the service and price very good. It varies from broker to broker but one to miss are The Caravan Club who are becoming real cowboys. They quoted me cheaper than Saga then tried to raise the excess from £250 to over £1250. Its a bit like buying a motorhome, you pays your money and takes your chance.

Thanks Geo, I shall add those two to my list to check out. Just read about NFU and TOAD insurance on another thread, useful to know! (Not a concern atm but may be in the future).

Also enjoyed reading the article about chickens on the NFU Mutual site!

can ditto saga, they mirrored my car insurance NCD, done a good price £360 for a autotrail scoute inc euro breakdown...only bad piont was they only allow extra added drivers (ie not on the cover full time) for up to four weeks max, no problem for me as I an't lending anybody my rig
