Looking to get my motorhome collected from Banbury to Essex, can anyone recommend a good reliable transport Company? Thanks 👍

Fully Road Legal etc, with lockdown restrictions etc, looking to get it collected by a car transporter sort of vehicle and not driven by hauliers.

Paul2415.
I was going to arrange for my new MH to be conveyed from North down to Kent last year during the lock down. Fortunately things eased up for a while which allowed me to collect.
But I did locate a company which I was quite impressed with when making enquiries.
They were CaDS Transport. I spoke with the owner Mike Lawn 0n 07836 754774.
As an indication he quoted £700 as he was travelling to the vicinity of Kent with another job at the time, otherwise the job would have been more expensive.
I cannot vouch in any way for the company as I didn't end up using them, but very possibly would have had circumstances not changed.
Good Luck.

OK, been looking at a company called Nick065.co.uk seems to have numerous good feedback on yell, quoted £270. Fully insured and covid allowed by government apparently. Not sure so I'm gonna keep looking, thanks.

They not interested, typical, take your money easily though, I'm hesitant just to use anyone, might not see it again if I'm not careful 🥺

If it's the dealer I used, they were falling over themselves to deliver on lockdown 1. I collected but delayed until lockdown over...and they didn't get their money till I collected

I paid £225 for collection from Glossop and driven to Southampton. Dealer had fogged van and plastic still on seats, cushions and mats etc. Simple wipe down and airing on arrival

Used this company based in Lincoln to get the van brought back from Alicante last June.

Excellent service - think they have at least 30 transporters and can handle any size.

I run a car transport company so might be able to help you if it's a PVC it's a lot easier to move than a coach built or A Class either way it's probably not going to be cheap.

if you pay someone from here to collect and drive it for you, then they would be 'working' ....

Always willing to see what quotes are available, it's 6mtr x 2.3mtr x 2.9mtr, built on a ford transit chassis, 2800kg.

It's not something that I would put on 1 of my lorries at that width it's too close to the pillars to move without damaging it, you could try Brit European at Crewe they have proper van carriers as they have the contract to deliver Mercedes Van's to dealerships or talk to your local HGV recovery operator to see if they can do it as a return journey when they have a lorry in the Banbury area

You could hold back until 20th Feb to see how soon you could collect it. I imagine it is safe where it is and you cannot use it yet anyway.

I would make sure you see a copy of the transport companies goods in transit insurance and fleet policy if use someone off Shipley because some if the prices quoted on there mean they cannot possibly do it legally and or safely

I've had loads of stuff from Shiply, Inc roofing sheets to France, no problems whatsoever, but Grummyb makes a valid point whether you use Shiply or another courier, ps - I still think a member on here who fancies a paid trip out (so it's legal cis they're working) would be a good option...... If anyone offered (I can't unfortunately). Their partner could even follow in their own motorhome as the driver has to get back somehow !!
