I want a few bits of paint work done on my van Mainly the Laquer is coming of the over cab part (not uncommon on my van) Anyone recommend someone they have actually used please ? I am in Lancing nr Worthing

Doubt any bodyshop is operating at the moment unless they are doing work for essential services like NHS etc.

For future reference, you could try contacting Reliance, Chichester - I'm sure they would know of a reputable repairer in your area.

Same is happening to mine Paul. I had the same happen to silver and blue onfront bumper 2year ago, cost £480 inc vat for removal refinishing and fitting. But they made a great job of it. Used a local body shop where I live in Cromer. Might ask what the cost to do overcab.

Well that's reassuring, mine's doing exactly the same and I was worried it was a reaction to some snowfoam cleaner I had used. My neighbour suggested getting the overcab vinyl wrapped but I don't know much about the process.

I have had this problem with cars in the past. It was caused by the different layers of paint and lacquer not bonding correctly so after a time they split. This is a manufacturing fault and I was lucky that the supplier did the repair even though it was just outside the warranty.
If you wish it look as it was originally then the only solution is a respray of the whole section after cutting away the faulty paint/lacquer.

I find it is very rare these days that the lacquer is ever 'properly bonded' to the paint. Utter sh**e is more like it.

You might want to give Sunstore in Goring by Sea a call. They specialize in fitting extras to motorhomes, but I am sure they will know of a local body shop that they use/would recommend. Their service is second to none, and they are very friendly and accommodating!!
