Just had an RTA in my Hobby 600, (took the offside corner and bumper off and light cluster)rear ended by another driver, had a look and it looks like it could be all in one piece, can this be repaired or do they just right them off,
Just asking

Cheers

Rotten luck.
You say it could all be in one piece (?) so a pic would give a clue as to whether it can be refitted or whether it may be a write off.

Hiya
When I say its one piece I meant that the side is one piece and the rear is another and then of course the bumper, it looks like an ALI sheet for side and rear, sorry for confusion

How old is the van? The description sounds vague, because if a newer van it is usually plastic and relatively easy to repair. Older vans were more "structural" at the rear and could sustain bad damage all to easily. If it's a foam sandwich construction it will need sections cut out and new bonded in but will never repair "good as new"

I would guess that's one for your insurance company to determine cost and practicality of repair They will sort a repairer if economic to fix.

Crumbs did a double decker bus hit you? :(

Your insurance company may insist on which repairers you use, but.....

If not then you put on here which area you are in, someone on here may give you advice on where to go to.

Good luck.

That looks like a financial write off. It has done structural damage and the plastic parts won't be available any more. Can it be fixed? Yes, but it will be very time consuming and need parts made up from fibreglass to return it to "ok". It won't ever be perfect again, so you would be better off accepting a pay out. What ever you do, don't accept the first offer they make. Do some research on what a similar van same age and pre-accident condition are selling for. Take screen shots to send in as evidence to prove current value. The value will be higher right now

I had a feeling that would be the answer, I know for a fact the rear light cluster is around £400 only from Germany, as for the repairs didn't think you could do a good job patching all the ALI up, cheers
