Hi Can anyone advise me ,I have a Bailey 2014 autograph 745 motor home ,can i have fitted a motor cycle /scooter rack ,I have had quotes sent to me but i am a little bit unsure due to weights ect that i have read on the forums , Can any one advise thanks phil.

I had a 2012 740. The problem I had was the rear axle weight, 2000kgs. With normal stuff under the bed and full tanks the axle was almost up to it's weight. To get around it you could fit air assisted suspension (£1500) new rear tyres with an increased max limit (£300) and have the vans plated weight and rear axle weight increased by SV Tech (£300) to 3850kgs gross weight and rear axle weight to 2200 lbs. A chassis mounted rack will cost between £1200 & £1500 for a scooter weighing 120 - 150kg ( absolute max). In that weight range you are generally limited to a 125cc. It works out to be rather expensive if you do it right. I decided discretion was the better part of valour and ran away.
On my current van, I have a tow bar and a HydraTrail and tow a 300cc scooter.

Hi vic thanks for the info ,Yes I agree is it worth paying all that money ,As you say it might be advisable to get a tow bar and trailer to carry the scooter /motor bike ,Then if I want to two a car on a A bar part of it is already installed phil

I went the HydraTrail route just for the ease of reversing. I tried a 125 scooter, but the max speed was 20 mph travelling up steep mountain roads 3 up. (Wife, dog and me).

Hi Vic.

Keenly interested to know how you got the dog on the scooter?

We have a PCX that goes in the garage, BUT the issue for trips out is our cocker spaniel. Could be a few looking forward to a solution to this one.

Cheers
