I was one who didn't follow your trip, not for any other reason than it's a place I won't be going to and doesn't interest me but would be interested in a short résumé of what you got up to and how it compares to Europe. (y) :giggle:

Thats fair comment and the reason i wrote what i did in post #1. Not to everyones taste.
Personally i would read about trips that others have done/doing in countrys i have not been to even if i have no intention of going.
As for comparing Aussie with Europe i think i mentioned in the Australia thread i will find it very difficult to get used to Europes way of doing things by comparison......and in my view it's not better.

What it needs is a journal entry so you can share it with non mhf friends as well

What a great route Bob. I drove from Sydney to cairns in a camper, took me two and half months. I don’t like to rush.  Thanks for the route very interesting.

I think it's well documented that my command of written English does not equate to the writing of a journal.
Had it been most of my posts in the Australia thread would have been a dam sight more informative and interesting.

Brilliant, and its great you can do it, worked hard and now get to do the things you want. Ive been reading the other thread with interest.
I was in brissie, a few years ago and met a fella and his lady who had spent the past 18 months going all round, told me some great stories.
Might get round to it one day, but probably USA first

The easy part about creating the journal is copying all your posts from the thread and pasting them into the journal with all the photos. If someone else has written in your thread and it is interesting (eg theres a great pub there) and you went back to it you can just add it.
It is easy to copy the whole lot over and my second effort at the journal took me about an hour and I reckon I can get that down even more.

It appears that you can then send the link of the journal (somehow) to non MHF friends.

You know you want to give it a try (y)

I think post #1 in the Australia thread says it all.
If folk want to read and are interested they would have.
I gave them the opportunity and warning what the thread was going to be about.
Certain topics i am not interested in so if i get a heads up what's the thread is about i wont look. Like dogs and cycling.

Done a good number of miles in the states as we had a place there for more than 10 years.
Easy driving (a lot very boring).
Maybe i should put a map up of where we have driven there......................or maybe not, don't push your luck Bob.

Great info and trip , as for comparison to other countries hard to do EXTENSIVE TRIPS completely different kettle of fish on different continents
