Hi ......this may be a silly question.....I have a Besacarr E-425, 2011 model on a Fiat Ducato.....I would like to clean the winter grime off the roof....will the roof support my weight if I kneel/walk on it ??

Probably, I put a towel then plywood board on ours to spread the weight. I also try and keep to the edge as much as possible and don't go near the skylight.

Not sure exactly of the model you state but the roof is secure enough to take body weight. If you have an over cab space where the roof rises up a bit this is not secure so don't put any weight on there.

I was told not to walk too close to the windows in the roof otherwise its ok . The weight limit I believe is around 12stone .

Hi I have a Burstner drop down bed model. Last year I cleaned the roof using a bucket of wash and long handled brush. Used a 6step ladder and leaned over most, with the brush cleaned what I could not reach. Then Poished same way , put the rag soaked in polish on the brush to do the bits I could not reach. Did this in the C & M site Chystal Palace. Not allowed to use a hose but were happy to sue bucket and rags to wash and polish.
Its my view footpaths are for walking on Van roofs are not and you are inviting trouble getting on them if you don't have too.

Long time
We had a dome fitted years ago and the nob-heads that did it obviously weren’t that careful as we had the next rain coming in round the electric fan skylight!
You could get up on your roof but be very careful what you do & how you do it, hubby usually washes ours from the ladder.

Very little support in the roof of most Bessacarr's so its best not to try your luck walking around on the roof and you could disturb old sealing allowing water to get in.
Most B & Q stores have a good range of step ladders at cheap prices able to get you up there for cleaning with a long reach brush and have included a link below.
