Hi all

I am looking for help on finding an overnight stop over as close as possible to Harwich Harbour Port for an early ferry accross to the Hook of Holland.

Any Sugestions gratefully received.

Hi,

We travelled on that route last year and stayed at a Certificated site (C&CC) at The Bungalow, Hunters Chase, Ardleigh near Dedham about 20 minutes drive from Harwich.

Roads were quiet - but it was for the early Sunday morning ferry .

We also stayed there on the way back

We have overnighted at ferry port parking areas but they are too noisy and bright from the floodlights

We used that route last August and stayed on the car park of the Bricklayers Arms public house in a little village called Little Bentley, good food, good ale and very friendly ( a bit like Vicar of Dibley with some interesting characters:RollEyes:) folk. We just asked if we could stay on their car park if we spent a few quid in the pub and they were very accomodating. Little Bentley is about 10-15 miles from Harwich if memory serves me right.

Hi Andy
We have stopped on the docks, a little noisy but was ok, no problems.

You could try the small village of Wix which is on your route about 5 or 6 miles short of the ferry. There is a pub at the crossroad in the village centre called the Wagon, turn right past the pub and right again into a car park which should do you nicely for a short stopover.

Hi

I live nearby so should be able to help.

If its a CL then I can recommend loads, but what times are your sailings?

Or do you want wild/free.

How far do you want to travel on the day?

Do you need EHU?

PM me with your needs and I will advise.

Just got here after a rush down (live all of one hour away) you can park overnight on the car park near check in for free. As the attendant said, saves all the worry and stress! Wish I had known last night  Jane and Bob
