MOT is it uniform?

Last year my camper had advisories for two front tyres with tread frayed. This year, due to rear tyre failed test. As I hardly used it last year I didn't bother to get the front tyres changed. Now this was the same garage chain and yet the two front tyres were not even mentioned.
ls this dangerous practice?
l will of course get all necessary work done...

If you looked over it last year and this year with hardly any miles done whats betting you would find things last year and not this year that need attention. It was an advisary not a failure I would be very surprised if it went for 3 Mots the same day and had exactly the same advisaries

some testers dont bother with advisories unless its a borderline fail, others take into account usual mileage and advise if they think brake pads suspension bushes etc will need doing soon for example,

Some note things to show they are actually awake when testing the umpteenth vehicle .:)

When I had my last Harley it had done 50 miles since it's last MOT but failed on the front tyre worn, not cheap for a Harley but I had to replace it in order to sell the bike.

"Advisory" is a waste of time.The majority won't even bother. It should either pass or fail No grey areas.

Here spanish "advisories" = fail , fail worse & fail don't even think about it.

As in Fail= you can take the vehicle away & get it repaired. It can be seen on the road. It can return under own steam for a retest.

Fail,worse= you can take it away but only directly to the place of repair. It cannot be seen to circulate. Needs to return on a trailer/truck for retest.

Fail ,don't even think about it= it doesn't leave here except on a recovery truck or trailer direct to a repair shop. Its wheels cannot be on the road.It also has to return for retest on a trailer/truck.
& it used to be that you could not go anywhere else as your documents were retained until it was retested.
If not retested within 2 months docments were sent to the ministry & your right to be on the road (permit of circulation) withdrawn.

& there is still utter scrap running about.

I think advisories are useful. They appear in the mot history so are useful as a pointer for anyone looking at buying in the future and for responsible owners point out things that need attention soon. The fact there are sheds on the road where you live suggests their wayeof reporting isn't making any difference.

Looked at a car today - DVLA Vehicle Check says it is Black, DVLA Mot History says it is Green - in real life it is Metallic Blue

Anyone know why the DVLA would have 2 different colours?

mistake when first registered probably, tested a dark green van this week that was listed on dvsa and check history as grey, changed the dvsa listing but think they would need to contact dvla to get the other record and log book changed, also some grey or blue can be very hard to define and can look different in different light and from different angle

As I remember it a car in South Africa only needed a compulsory MOT to sell it so it only legally needed two tests.... The one when you bought it and the one when you sold it.
If it was found to have faults in an accident the accident was your fault... Even if it was a 'no blame' accident.
Compulsory 3rd party insurance was included in the cost of petrol so nobody was uninsured.
Of course, this was 30 years ago.
