As some of you will know we are on our summer quarters in Reil Germany on the banks of the Mosel. I have never known it this quiet, very few campers, even German. Maybe its the cost of fuel or the price rise, I dont know. This years prices are 12 Euros per night, with the seventh night free making it, E10.28c per night. This includes free hot showers and toilets plus free gray and black dump. 16 ampelectric if required is 5 Euros per day with the seventh day free making it E4,28c per day. We have been running the AC for the last 3 weeks, so do not mind the cost of electric. Its only a couple of hundred meters to the village with bars, restaurants and wineries, but am told the little shop/bakery will close its doors for good at the end of the year.

Us too, 6 weeks in total. East first to Dresden. Then back via Colditz and Leipzig to Koblenz to follow the Mosel south to Trier. Only a rough plan, open to suggestions.

Love the Mosel. Need to do it again, but not this year due to other planned trips.
Ive missed out on Euro trips for the past 2.5 yrs due to bloody covid and restrictions etc, Im not going to waste another couple of yrs due to the price of fuel, lifes too short!
Given the price of our motorhomes the increase in fuel is low in comparison. Im on a trip through France Spain to Portugal in late August and the trip is probably going to cost less than £200 extra in fuel compared to a yr ago. So youve a choice, suck it up or waste precious time waiting for it to reduce.

Is that Campingplatz Moselland? It looks a perfect location.

Think all the German motorhomes were in Croatia and Italy a few weeks back, thousands of the buggers😁😁

The other side of the river from Campingplatz Moselland, just along a bit from the parkplatz under the bridge crossing the river.

We're on a motorbike trip and just passed one of the Stellplatz's on Lake Konstanz and can confirm that every German motorhome is there. There's millions of them. All having a brill time.

I'd rather be in the motorhome there sipping a nice cold glass of Riesling than sweating my butt off on the bike.

A lot to consider Lenny, exchange rate at the time, how much they offer you PX for the Hymer, what freebies they throw in etc etc
