If anyone is around look us up . we are at our 1st stop on our long awaited return to the Mosel after 4 years!! Just set up at mehring for 2 nights then we will decide from then - too tired to think about it . Drove straight into train at tunnel - no queue . Mehring site (the small one that sells wine) is 29€ for 2 nights including €2.5 per night for Lecci

Diesal was €1.90 in Luxembourg and around €2.06 ish elsewhere so worth filling up.

We to are heading to the Mosel, setting off next week, Bruges, then probably Dusselldorf then down the Rhine to the Mosel.
Sounds like it could be busy😁😁

Not ruled out being on the Mosel at some point over the next three weeks.
We are on the ferry tomorrow and in the NL somewhere till Monday.
May have made a decision by then
Mosel would be a no brainer if we hadn't been several times before.
Benefit of having a van you can just wing it.

Enkirch Sept 2 to 4 very busy with Willys Fernreisemobiltreffen 2022 overlander meet Could be as many as 1000 vehicles

So at Mosel beach, mehring. There are currently around 20 places free , so we aren’t concerned . We will stay clear of enkirch of course 😆
But on fuel news , Mr sueandjohn just saw diesel at €2.11 urgh but only £1.82 in our money
In the meantime a pic of sunrise over the Mosel to whet some appetites

Thats a surprise, we paid 1.69 euros 3 weeks ago, most places since its been cheaper,

edit- equivalent of £1.36 in Croatia.

New note - take long ehu cable - on this site one box serves 5 vans so long stretch

Looks fabulous, what’s the temperature expected to be down there during the day and night please?

We too are heading for the Mosel, starting out next Wednesday, plan to spend a couple of nights in Bruges first, then head for Koblenz to follow the Mosel
We were hoping to go to Brugge on the way back . I will be interested where you stay znd if it’s busy please

We're heading to the tunnel later today, planning on staying in Redu overnight and then on to Bernkastel tomorrow for the wine festival (y)

Only €1.825 in France yesterday.
Heading for Caravan Salon may go down to the Mosel after but won't be staying on expensive sites like that.

Yes we were shocked - specially the price in Luxemburg
I was on the Mosel last month and filled up twice in Luxembourg €1.81 going up and then coming out back into France which was only a couple of cents cheaper than the previous fills in France, and the final fill before our return was at Arras which was the cheapest of the whole trip at €1.75.

we will be staying at the aire near the bus & coach park hopefully if there’s space, it’s quite expensive at 25 euros for 24 hours but it’s a great spot for walking in to town

We are travelling over on Saturday late afternoon and stopping for the night at Esquelbecq.
Heading out to pick up the A25 the next morning we will be stopping at Wormhout for diesel which the website https://www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr/ states the Total garage is €1.679.

Look forward to hearing about your trip. We are also heading towards the Mosel soon. In Ypres atm & going to head for some cycling spots on the River Meuse first tho'. Looks like we are in for a few showers so that'll affect where we go.

Yep the forecast for Saturday isn't looking great at the moment, but you never know 😉 Friday and Sunday look fine tho.

We're in Redu rightnow, should be in Bernkastel by tomorrow lunchtime. First a bit of shopping, then let the wine tasting start👍

We are looking at arriving there tomorrow. Are you able to recommend it please, as we've not been to that Aire before.

Cheers,

Jock. :)
Absolutely! Second time we've been here....6 official places, but plenty of overflow room (think there must be about 10 here tonight). Sadly Le Fornil brasserie in the village is closed for their holidays till 8th September, but there's a another place that's open till 8ish. Very quiet overnight, flat enough that we don't bother with ramps, EHU available if required (not sure on the cost tho...we've not bothered with it).

Thanks for that, and much appreciated. (y)

Might see you on the Mosel from Sunday onwards. :)

Cheers,
