Thats it the ferries booked, we're set to go. ::bigsmile:

Leaving from Portsmouth to Caen mid August
Returning from Santander to Plymouth early October.

Wish we were going now I've had enough of decorating and Jan keeps finding more little jobs for me to do.

Can't wait really looking forward to going, I love that feeling of heading off into the unknown. :thumb:

Hope you all have a great time.

Andyman, you are only 47 now. Are you sure the British government (any party) is going to let you retire at 65 in 18 years time.
You'll be lucky if the age hasn't gone up to 70 or even more for retiring.:ROFLMAO:

The way this country is going, if we dont starve due to increased food prices, we;ll freeze as we wont be able to afford to heat the house.
Maybe it's time to become a Itinerant

Hi Ror

There are 3 vans (Geo and myself, Suzy and Bryan and Mark and Linda) that have already booked their ferries, the same one leaving Plymouth on 24 August to Santander, and we all booked nice accommodation as well. That's the nice side, the bad part is that Geo and myself are booked in at the doctors on 7 July to have our injections. It's not the needle that bothers me, its the possible side affects to them that does. Oh well, needs must:Doh:

Hi Pam
We've got a cabin coming back as we're on the overnight ferry.

What injections are you having?
I think Jan & I are ok as we had loads last November when we went to Asia.
Hope so I hate the needle

Definitely having:
Hepatitis A - recommended for all travelers
Typhoid - again recommended for all travelers given in the form on four capsules taken on alternate days until completed.

Then it goes on to say that you need:
Hepatitis B if you are likely to have intimate contact with local residents
Rabies for travelers who may have direct contact with animals and may not have access to medical care
Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR for all travelers born after 1956
Tetanus-diptheria - which is recommended every 10 years.

I am ready for another tetanus jab anyway so I will have that and I think Geo is ready for one as well.

Don't worry
I've got a plan to keep the wild animals at bay.
I'm gonna put some of Jans cakes outside the RV at night.
That'll keep em away.:ROFLMAO:

Bit of pain in the arms but ok, susan says it feels like someones punched her in the arms.

I just read that and laughed out loud.
She's sat next to me on the sofa knitting.

Olley, Geo has just asked how much the injections cost - he's heard they're about £70-90 each:whatthe:

Gosh I hope not.

Hep B - why did you have that one - you're not intending to get intimate with any locals are you???:ROFLMAO:

Hi Pammy

I am not sure what they mean by "intimate contact" with local residents means..............Ahhh, yes, I think I do :winky:

Anyway, visiting homes, schools and even Berber/Nomad camps is a feature of the tour......so close contact is a possiblity......Runny noses and bad hair days are also a feature..........

Hi Ray

Thanks for the tip, see your point. I thought that 'Intimate contact' meant literally 'intimate contact' but anyway, if it's a combined jab then there is nothing to lose.

hi guys our jabs were free ::bigsmile:
just been to the quacks for some needles::bigsmile: what a load of fun :Eeek:
We have had vaccines against HepA ,HepB, Polio, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Typhoid, better not drink any liquids for an hr or two or we will leak all over the place
next week we go back for another HepA and HepB and rabies, followed by two more rabies a week apart, by the sound of it we just made the time limits for the full set, no one else we know is having the rabies but the nurse said better safe than sorry, AND THEY WERE ALL FREE, except for a prescription charge each for the Rabies vaccine that Docs don't stock:thumb:
