i have just contacted Comfort insurance for my green card for morrocco in January.

It’s now £33.60 a week plus £20 admin charge....

It makes a 10 week trip to morrocco expensive.

I was told £22-60 a week plus £ 20 admin so changed to Safeguard bit dearer but breakdown and 12 months green card so a lot cheaper than Comfort who wanted £291 extra for 12 week green card

We must have been lucky. Ordered ours from Comfort in september and just paid the usual £20 fee.
It will be a pain if this is a new thing as comfort are the only company to provide 'proper' full timer insurance...

Looking forward to the trip!

I would be inclined to go back to Comfort and ask why has it gone up by such an astronomical amount in just 1 year ( £20 last year) for me and that was for Morocco

I would also ask "Is my fully comp policy, fully comp when I am travelling abroad ". I have in the past and I have to admit I cant remember when but Fully Comp didn't mean Fully Comp abroad, all it meant was that I had the minimum legal requirement for the Country. which was France and I think it was my scooter.

As I understand it all that a green card does is prove that you have the minimum requirement of third party cover for the country that you are visiting. A green card isn't a legal requirement if you have your certificate of insurance with you.

Not having a green card doesn't make your insurance invalid, it's just an easier more recognisable way of proving that you have the required minimum cover.

As said change insurers, or just maybe threaten to. I've had green cards for the last 4 winters for different countries all free of charge.

Is the increase in the premium not for the green card but for the breakdown cover of your policy
