Hi....... I have seen several posts on here regarding people looking forward to getting back To Morocco, to be honest, I haven't paid that much attention as never even considered going that far.... this evening we were watching Rick Stein in Morocco and started to discuss, the 'boss' is totally unsure due to several points
Safety
Language barrier
Water
M/ Home repair
Insurance

Lots of other things, but, would anyone like to give me ammunition so that I can convince her that it would be an enjoyable ( brave ) step to take, and one that a lot of others have done and enjoyed.

Thanks

Add insurance to your points

We ve been 4 times. We think its mostly safer than Spain. Less chance of being robbed, although you do have to be careful on the roads because of the standard of driving.

Language barrier, it is an advantage to speak some French or Spanish, however increasing amounts of the youngster are speaking english.

Water = only drink bottled, washing water is fine albeit probably a good idea to clean your tank out afterwards because of the salts.

Motorhome repair, the Moroccans will fix anything, people go there to have resprays, get reupholstered, have solar panels fitted. We had a breakdown on the road, waterpump went and took fan belt with it. We were back on the road within 24 hours at a very reasonable price.

Insurance, not everyone is doing comp but if thats what you need then change insurers.

May be worth having a butchers at this, not everyones tase but you may pick up some tips
this is the first video on the Morroco trip down, they have done 3 since whci youll be abel to see on their channel

We've been twice recently and agree with jongood.
We never ever felt unsafe except when we drove over the boule piste in Tiznit

We got told to move the next day.

Three times we had problems with the motorhome, twice fixed within an hour and a more difficult one sorted in a day.

If you check all the threads on here going back several years you will most likely find answers to many of your questions, I’ve been twice and can’t wait to get back there, never felt threatened, always felt safe, defensive driving is best. The standard of many campsites is now equal to some of the best in Europe but you can still find the real Morocco. Like many countries you can find poor standards, but in the main standards are good. Just go when several others are and dip in and out of their company which is what many do. My wife had many of the reservations that yours seems to have, she loved it, has been twice and will go again. It’s an adventure, just do it(y)

Morocco is like nowhere else on earth, varied landscapes from desert dunes & plains to snow capped Atlas mountains, beautiful beaches, villages, towns & cities with crazy mad Souks! all with different vibes which are hard to describe but anyone on here who has been to Maroc will know what I mean, Morocco will steal your heart, here's a few of pics (from 100s) we took in 2020 just to whet your appetite 😉
As the guys above have said.... just go.....

Wow! Your pics have really stirred some memories I have of Morocco! My wife and I had our honeymoon there just over 15 years ago when we had no van. Can't wait to get out there with the kids now :roflmto:

Morocco - the best trip ever in my MH back in April 2013. A magical country with friendly people, fabulous scenery, beautiful beaches, history oozing from its ancient cities and villages and, back then, low cost living. Would I go again? No; I'd be worried the freshness of my wonderful memories might be overlaid with familiarity the second time around. Recommend going? You bet!

Is this the right video? I must admit I skipped forwarded after the first bit but they didnt seem to get to Morocco, it seemed like they were complete newbies in France.

its a on going trip to Morocco they have not got there yet ,they usually update there bog every Sunday night

We've been 6 times now, have fallen in love with the country but alas, health reasons for now have probably precluded a return this winter season - it's an ideal place for over-wintering, nice and warm and no worries about 90 days in 180! It looks like the borders will be re-opening very shortly.
A couple of years ago I wrote an article about the practical parts of touring Morocco, you can find it in the Resources section - dark blue bar at top of the page. Despite when it was written it is still pretty much up-to-date and will give you plenty of info that will help allay your other half's fears - mine was exactly the same but after less then a couple of hours she was converted! The King is dedicated to attracting more visitors (once the place reopens) and there has been a lot of investment in tourism, including roads, campsites etc. But as Dabhand says, you can still find the real Morocco.
Also look up some of the annual Morocco threads - Morocco 2016 is particularly good as it is very photo-heavy.
Finally, if you are still nervous, try to hook up with someone else when you cross the Straits, just to give you a bit of confidence and show you the ropes. (Follow the Morocco 2022 thread which seems to be the most updated in this respect).

TerryL..... thanks for that, however, You allude to the health issues.... I didn't mention th fact that I also have health issues, so does that change things ????

Mine are due to recent fairly major surgery which hopefully will not prevent future visits - time will tell.

There is no national health service in Morocco but my article does set out what you can expect. Otherwise it all depends on what your health insurance company will cover and only you can consider what risks you are prepared to take. Don't get me wrong, Morocco is a civilised country, it just doesn't have the "emergency" facilities you expect to find in Europe.

Thankfully, apart from once buying some antibiotics for a flare up of a mouth abcess, I've no experience to offer.

TerryL was the guy who took us over as rookies and we'll always be grateful for his unwavering determination to make sure we all had a great time which we did, and wee Brenda is just a treasure ❤
Hope to see them both again on the road as soon as feasibly possible 🙏
