Morocco surf fishing

We are planning our first trip to Morocco this coming winter. Does anyone know if I need a licence for surf fishing in Morocco? Are there any rules or regs to be aware of?

From my own personal experiences I saw lots of shore fishing going on including facing into 20ft spray & wading in up to their necks! Lol (see pics) but I don't believe it's regulated in any way

I'd guess most Moroccans have no idea what "sport fishing" is all about so the only problems I could foresee would be Moroccan fisherman working for their livelihood who might object. From my knowledge of the average Moroccan, though, don't think it would be worth worrying about. Just go for it.

Its a few years old ..it sounds like a fantastic place to go sea fishing..

Those couple of photos I put up with the waves hitting the rocks was just below Casablanca where that TripAdvisor guy seems to be based but I think anywhere along that Atlantic coast would be good

I've also read the post from billym about fishing licences and have emailed the Morocco tourist board for further info.

Surf fishing sounds difficult to me. You must have phenomenal balance and skill.... casting down a barrel.... wrestling a big one from the nose of a long board. It's an impressive thought, I won't lie.
