Happy Christmas From Morocco

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE from a VERY HOT Morocco:Cool:

We are on a campsite 18miles north af Agadir, we arrived here 4th December and will probably stay until 3rd Jan, then move south to Aglou Plage. As yet we have not had much luck with "wild camping" some of the places we read about do not allow it anymore. We have spoken to quite a few people here who tell us that it is still quite popular further south, past Agadir.
We are having a great time, met a lot of nice people, locals and tourists, and would love to come back next year, but probably bring the car on a trailer, a lot to think about realy.
Today has been the hottest day here since we arrived 36c so I don't think we will have a white Christmas :whatthe:
Hope you are all keeping warm and dry, good luck to Snowbird and his "caravan" of motorhome funsters, might see you all next month.::bigsmile:

Christmas day

Thought we would show you the pictures from Christmas Day ::bigsmile:

We rode round the campsite and local shops on our scooters, handing out chocolates and Christmas cards, to the locals and holiday makers. (David rigged his I Pod up on repeat, it was playing Santa Clause Is Comming To Town over &over) they all loved it, the locals thought they were getting something special when we gave them a Christmas card, it was Magic. :yeah:

We also went for a walk on the beach :winky:

We are off on our travels again in the morning, heading South. :thumb:

Good Morning from Morocco

Good morning & a belated Happy New Year.

We are now in Sidi Ifni, arrived here 30th December. It is lovely here and it has all we need. :thumb:
We are parked on Camping Solymar 45dh per night, 2 min walk to the beach, at the edge of the old town, which has several banks, lots & lots of restaurants, loads of shops & a couple of markets, and most important THE SUN... apparently it has not rained here since 2010.
David has bought a fishing rod and is going to attempt to catch tea !!!
There are 6 english vans and 2 Irish on here with a few more staying on the other 2 campsites very close by. It is getting quite busy now with more and more vans arriving everyday (mainly French).
We had a visit the other day from another funster J & V who were wild camping at the other end of town on the dissused airfield.
We lthink we will probably stay here untill it is time to head back to Spain. Next year we will be bringing the car so that we can explore more of the area, and the inland places that the RV would struggle to get to.

Just had a chat with "the only Sue" on Skype, who seems to be having a great time in Spain.

The sun is now fully up so it,s time to go.

Speak soon Sue & Dave

Good Morning Link Removed

Thought we would put some of the photo's on that we took the other day, whilst walking on the beach. Before they built the Jetty (Near the sardine factory) the boats used to anchor of the construction that ressembles an oil rig, unload their catch and send it by pullies up to the old factory at the top of the hill, it must have looked amazing.

We love walking on the beach here, the waves are so powerfull, they sound like thunder, you can hear them everywhere you go, even when you are in bed, kind of soothing really.

We only have about another 16 days left in Morocco before we head back into Spain Link Removed We have been here for 54 days so far, 53 of them have been fantastic. Link Removed

Enjoy the photo's

"the party's over"

We are parked up on camping Ferdaous 11km north of Marrakech. It is a lovely site set in an Orange/Lemon grove.

We heard from the campsite (we will be working on this season) back in the UK and they require our services earlier than we expected  So we are heading back to Spain and will be ther for just over 2 weeks instead of 4:cry:.
We have had afantastic time and can't wait for November to do it all again.:thumb: Thanks Snowbird for planting the seed, hope all is well with you and yours.

Not far now (Snowbird, Dave has been shoveling the coal again :Eeek: ) We are about 45 Miles from Tangier Med:Eeek: so we are hoping to get the 7pm Fast Ferry back, and will then spend the night at Lidl.

We are both sad at leaving Morocco, but are looking forward to Spain and then getting home to see familly (our grandson James is almost walking )and friends.

Thanks for all the comments, and thanks for letting us share our adventure with you all. It has been amazing :Eeek:.

We will post the last photo's when we can get Wi Fi.

Hope to meet up with some of you sometime...:thumb:

sue, dave.... can you give me a heads up later about the return trip..
How long before the ferry do we have to be there ?
Are there many formalities at the Morocco side .?
Do Spanish customs make any effort ?

etc etc..

I can then pass the info on to the group..
Thanks...

Hope you have a good run all the way back.
It has been a great thread with some good info.
I don't think we could have done it alone this first time. At the moment we are enjoying life in this group of three vans.

Thank you

Sue, Dave,.

Any info ref the return trip ??

Save travels..
HI steve

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, we have not had any internet access until today.

We stayed for a couple of days on the sea front in san pedro then acouple of days in Mojacar before getting here Benijofar, we are now at my sisters for a few days before heading home.

Leaving Morocco

There does not appear to be an "arrival" time. When you arrive at the port, you will get a number of men with an "official lookiing" badge round thier necks approach you, asking for passports and tickets. You can either go along with them and they will get your tickets for you FOR A PRICE :whatthe: Or you can park up and go to the ticket office and get the ticket yourself for FREE :thumb:. You then drive a few more yards, get out of your vehicle and hand in your "yellow" exit visa and vehicle export. you then procede to the Scanner, everyone must get out while being scanned. once back in you will be pulled over while they either look or not look in your lockers or inside. you then procede to the boat.
Arriving in Spain, some people where stopped (mainly Spanish) we just showed our passports and we were away :clap::yeah::thanks:
Isn't the diesel cheap in Morocco

Safe journey to you all, might see you there this comming winter maybe
