Hi, has anyone used the Mopeka gas monitoring system on 6kg gas bottles?

looking for something to be able to monitor them preferably remotely that doesn’t cost the earth.

Watching this thread as I am in the same position

Yes they work ok on the 6kg bottles drop down list giving different size bottles on the Bluetooth app

Yep, both my bottles are 6Kg, Mopeka units and app work fine with them

Never heard of these ! what are they , what do they do , how much are they

Would be good not to have to open the gas locker just to check the gas

Madcaravanner -they are great. Much better than the gaslow dial on the cylinder which I find drops to the bottom of the red zone when the cylinder is still 1/3 full. Work using ultrasound I think. Just apply the monitor to the bottom of the cylinder (magnetic so fine with steel cylinders) and link to your phone wirelessly. Worth every penny.

At this moment in time - - unless I can find a UK based seller it's on the back burner most I can find have postage costing as much as the monitor and I would need 2

I'm afraid not spending over £90 just yet

When I bought it it was cheaper from the USA but Autogas2000 and Gasit sell them I think. Couldn't you just use one on the second cylinder in a 2 cylinder system?

Mine were about £80 from the US, we use them on 6kg Gasit cylinders and they work fine with the phone app.
Cheers
Ed

Does anyone do a simple cheap "strip" that you attach to side of bottle so you can read roughly the gas level ?

I bought mine from Gasit. They work well on 6kg Gasit cylinders, but took a bit of trial and error to find the best location on the bottom of the cylinders to get a good reading.

Ours work fine on 6kg bottles but the van has to be absolutely level otherwise the app says the bottles are empty.
