Hi all, I am going to Montpon ( Camping La Cigaline ) in June 2015 where I have run Rallies for the H C I. If there is enough interest I will organise a meet/rally. The site is an ex municipal run by a very nice young couple who I know well. It is situated by the river and just a five minute walk to the town centre. The pitches are grass and a good size with reliable 10amp electric. I am sure I can agree a 11 euro a night fee including electric. There is a bar and a reasonable bar type menu, and free WIFI in the bar area. Montpon is midway between
Bordeaux and Perigueux with a train service to both. If required I can organise trips to either or both by coach with a very good meal on the way back. If anyone would like to contact me for more information my e mail is. middy42@mail.com or mobile 07530162258

Oh Yes Please, you can count us in, & if you are not careful we will bring Geoff & Lynne, just let us know the dates. We have been there before and would thoroughly recommend the site and the wonderful way in which Middy42 organises things.

Any date in mind please? I would love to spend a week end with other Hymer owners. I was hoping Pentecôte bank holiday would be in June but ....No... unfortunately! So for me it can only be Saturday and Sunday. I might even cancel my Saturday Morning English session for Little Ones to have more time and run away on Friday evening!

I must say I am a little disappointed at the response to a probable Rally at MONTPON in France considering the number of members. Is there a specific reason that I am missing. Barrie

There seems to be a lot of Funsters going to Twin Lakes in May, maybe this has something to do with the poor response. Would have liked to come ourselves but we are going to Scotland in June.

The optimum date would be the last week in June and the first week in July. But I will be there for most of June, to organise discount rates there would have to be at least 20 vans. Barrie

Middy42 - don't lose heart, we'd be interested but it's too far ahead for us (and probably a lot of others) to make any commitment.

Suggest if you can that you re-post around Feb/March when most people are sorting out their seasons.

As Jim has said before, we need people like you to start the ball rolling. But some you win, some you lose. C'est la vie!

The reason take up might be limited is because June is a busy month for Fun Rallies:
Starting on about the 10th or 11th is Southport Rally, then straight on to the week long Stratford MH Show and then after a couple of days it's the Misterton Rally ending on the 29th
These are all well attended events with somewhere between 50 and 100 Funsters.
Three solid weeks of Funstering.
And we haven't got the dates yet for Wrenbury which is usually early June.
Early July might get a better response but please don't take it personally - Funsters are usually up for a good shindig.

As soon as you go past the first week in July the price I get would not be available. As I am calling in to the site in March on my way back from Spain I will ask the Question face to face for say the middle two weeks in July. And as suggested will try it again when I get back at the end of March. Barrie

My thought on this were............. a pity it does not follow on from Twin Lakes

Middy, I don't know you but would gently suggest that a request for a discount for dates that Bastille Day falls smack in the middle of will be met with incredibility and refusal anywhere in France!

Montpon-Menesterol is equidistant between Bordeaux & Perigeaux just of the A 89. Barrie

What a difference a few weeks make, will now not be in Montpon in June as I have to have a bypass. Have not got the date yet but hoping its sooner rather than later. BARRIE
