We've got around 10 days after Christmas when we can go to France. We had decided on Normandy but aren't so sure now. Can anyone recommend an area to visit in that timeframe? We like remote spots as we enjoy walking and cycling.

A lot of French sites will be closed then

We are off to France and have booked a site in Paris, but last year used the municipal site in Nantes

Fantastic site, water waste decent electric, good WiFi, hardstandings, and outside the entrance the main tramway into the centre, about 7 minutes

Excellent for cycling everywhere in the City, and loads to see and do

Our friends we went with went back en route to Spain in the Spring for a few more days they enjoyed it so much

See the steam elephant if you go

Alsace is a days travel with some fantastic spots and really really stunning villages such as Eguishem near Colmar, which isn't bad itself, Strasbourg is 2 days walking round and the Juras are nearby. All done by free aires. Oh and there aren't half a lot ov fineyards hic

By your a avatar you are in West Sussex. Poole to Cherbourg turn left off ferry and do the Normandy beaches, war graves etc plenty of Aires along that coast.

Have a tour of the D Day landing beaches and museums. That will keep you occupied.
The only problem could be finding service points open or not frozen.

On 3rd van so not a total newbie....
We're doing the same off on boxing day evening for a week, probably just head down the coast towards Rouen, or may turn left towards Amsterdam.
