Would you recommend them, or is it something that you put on after sustaining damage, as I am doing.

And me. In fact I was going to save them until I sold the van but I fitted them to cover all the cracks and holes. Might have to buy another set when I sell.

Mine have survived a few clashes with only a small crack in the nearside protector. But fitting them to keep the wing mirror together is something I never considred, good idea :D

Well worth it I had the Mirror guards and they were very good bought them at a show (y)

Fit them, mine have survived a few clashes over the years. Wish they made them for the VW T5 neighbour just had his smashed , very expensive to replace

We have white Mirrorguards. They certainly make the mirrors more noticeable to oncoming drivers and I notice HGV’s tend to move over a little more as they head towards me.
Somebody clipped our mirror a few weeks ago causing the unit to swing inwards, but luckily there was no damage, just a mark on the mirrorguard, which polished out.
I don’t know if the mirror would have sustained any damage if the mirrorguard wasn’t fitted though.

My only criticism is that they were bl**dy hard to fit properly....

We had a coming together with a BMW X5 in France and our Mirrorguards were unmarked, unlike his mirror which was absolutely smashed to bits and scattered all over the road. Wouldn't be without them now.

Swapping wing mirrors with an oncoming vehicle is akin to jousting, very feudal, so it makes sense to get some armour!
What say you.

I Have just fitted a pair, the tip to fit them is leave them in the sun to get them warm and I brushed on soapy water to slide the Mirror guide over the door mirror, and try to slide it on evenly

Definitely Mirror guard ,the cheaper versions are just cosmetic .i also think they look smart .

I looked at some at the show for our Hymer a class £249 but was not sure about the fit and he was not sure if they could be painted.

What make did you put on?

I must watch out for some of you folk coming the other way, it sounds like you are tooled up for motorhome jousting.

Satisfying?

When I was a Tugger a Kwik Save wagon took my o/s mirror clean off in North wales ,never even woke the wife.

Hi Quick Quick,
I have Mirrorgaurd, silver ones on a metalick grey cab I must admit they do slightly jar with me, can be bothered to colour match.

Does anybody ever stop?

I took off somebody's wing mirror whilst they were queuing in the inside lane. I couldn't stop as my lane was moving so I waited in the next layby. The chap thanked me for waiting when he got there and we exchanged 'phone numbers and I asked him to let me know the cost of repair and I would do a bank transfer. Apparently he had the same thing happen a couple of weeks previously and it had just been repaired!

I never heard from him again, I left a message on his answerphone but he never got back to me.

Does the Mirror Guard allow for the little button that is the outside temp sensor?

Yes. (y) I have unfortunately functionally tested mine a few times. Last was a 60 mph impact speed encounter with a quarry lorry in france. After lorry 1 had a go and failed, lorry 2 tried to force me off the road. He won that time. Only damage was a dent in the Mirror Guard.;);)

60mph? was that 30mph with an oncoming 30mph (=60mph)? If that was just your incoming speed, I'll order mine now! Quarry Lorry, I'm impressed!
