Anyone have experience of a company called Mirror Armour who make mirror protectors for A classes?

We had a pair of Mirror Guards on our previous coachbuilt MH which as everyone knows are very tough and actually do work (as tested in France last year when an Autotrail driver was too busy waving at us to slow down for a narrow section of road). We'd love some for our A Class as I suspect the mirrors are even more expensive to replace but Mirror Guard don't make them for A classes :( I can't find much on here about Mirror Armour - except one thread which suggested they weren't as good as Mirror Guards...which looking at the pictures I'd be inclined to agree. I'm thinking they'd be better than nothing?

There were a company selling a few different ones at Malvern last year about £150 per pair.

The best thing to do is avoid hitting them and there's less chance in an A-class. I've hit things and the mirror has moved in. Only scratches on the plastic. Once the mirror fell out, dangling by the heater wire. Each time simple to correct and no great expense, unless you're fussy about a scratch.

I am watching for replies.

Nearest we came to mirror damage was from a White Van driver eating a sandwich and clipped our mirror while we were stationary, but just left some paint but I think in the mirror I saw his shatter - oh sad.

We were just 20 mins. to ferry at Dover so it would have been the wrong time for a broken mirror.

I'm not sure that mirror protector will prevent a broken mirror. If you smash the housing it can be expensive and time-consuming to replace.

back in 2017 there was no availability. https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.u...me-Matters/Pilote-Galaxy-mirror-guards/46693/

This is what was being mooted as a part solution?

We bought some for our van by contacting a company who sells on Ebay. They're really well made and great service from the company.

Type in "MOTORHOME PILOTE RAPIDO MIRROR PROTECTORS FOR A CLASS 2009 ONWARDS" to get to the seller.

These are the ones fitted to our van:

They look like the same Mirror Armour ones I linked to (y) Glad to hear you think they're well made - have you had cause to test them yet?

I'd also be interested to know if you've also seen Mirror Guards (for coachbuilt mirrors) and how you think they compare to them in terms of toughness.

We had a set from Seaflo which were a lot cheaper and just as tough with built in front and rear reflectors.

I've only had to try them out when edged into a hedge by a humpty with a horse trailer coming to other way. They stood up great and because of the material they're made off, the scuff marks came off without any problem and left no trace. They're sort of like a soft shock absorbent plastic.

I can't comment on other brands but money well spent in my opinion considering the cost of replacement mirror assemblies.
