Just for anyone looking for an external thermal screen for their wagon.
For the past few years I have been using a Paragon Silver Screens external windscreen cover, which although was starting to show it`s age a bit, really served well and was still perfectly good and stood up to a fair bit of use.
Anyway, thought I would have a wee post Xmas treat, sold it privately and after a bit of research bought above Polar Silver Screen, found it on ebay and contacted Minsterproducts who could not have been more helpfull in the few questions I had about the fitting, Silver or Black finish attributes, standard or extended length for catching the wind and delivery.
Ordered it yesterday direct from Minsterproducts at 1130am and it arrived today at 1.30pm, £125 total including carriage.
Absolutely brilliant bit of kit.
From fit, quality, quality of storage bag and general service from company could not be more happy with the screen.
As my youngest son had a few pals round today for bit of a party we have spent most the day in MoHo and being a cold damp day is not showing a sign of condensation
Would easily say it equals the Paragon in quality if not better.

I agree entirely. We got one for our A class Burstner last year, really pleased with it and a great service from Minster products

Another thumbs up ? for Polar Screens from me. I was struggling to find screens for my A Class Carthago C Line. Silver Screens didn’t have a pattern and weren’t interested in making one. I looked around and found Minster Products Polar Screens. I telephoned and spoke with a very helpful lady called Caroline at their Telford depot... 20 miles from me. She couldn’t have been more helpful. It was Monday morning and I was going away on Thursday. She arranged to make them during the week and arranged for me to pick them up on route, saying that if there was any problem with the fit, she would do the adjustments there and then so that I could take them with me.
The price was not bad, the screens fit perfectly and they do their job as well as my previous Silver Screens on previous vans.
Excellent service, good quality product. Happy to highly recommend this company.

Sorry dont know what that means G7UXG! ha ha

This is a timely thread as shortly heading off skiing and about to buy a cover. One question though, advantages or otherwise of a black screen or a silver screen ?

Don’t know if my terminology is right... there’s a review section on the forum where a thread is created relating to a company. Members can add reviews and easily search for feedback on companies.

Another recommendation here, bought a silver one just before Christmas haven’t used it properly yet but fits and looks well made. Also delivered the following day.

Hi themselves. The chap I spoke to said there is absolutely no difference in the properties of Black or Silver, which kinda took me back as silver/white reflects and Black/dark absorbes!
Anyhow I am assured it makes no difference to the screens and it is purely astetics. They offer same insulation and anti-condensation properties.
Asking about standard or extended length he did state the extended does catch the wind a bit more but advised if `I was likely to be going to the Alps Sking and parking up for a few days` the extended is better for stopping snow/ice collecting and blocking in the skuttle shelf and vents (bottom of windscreen). I suppose same would be if you were storing under a tree for leaves and that kinda thing.

Ok, cheers, didnt know that

Got ours from them last September, made and fitted as we waited, and its hardly been off the van. Great for keeping it cool too. Silver definitly the smart option it looks great and does not fade or attract the heat.

Well thats what I would have thought with the silver but the chap I spoke to assured me due to the nature of materials and construction they have the same properties. Said the black is exactly the same but just has a further black coating on top of the silver screen!
I dont know but well pleased.

Yep, another thumbs up for Polar, product itself is good quality and company service excellent.

Great product from Polar. We had a screen made for our Pilote but when we changed the van to a Frankia a couple of years later the screen didn't fit properly. Popped into Polar in Sheffield who altered the screen to fit the Frankia while we waited and charged us £10. Brilliant service.

Another fan of the Polar Screen here. Ours has a privacy screen too. This is a mesh that is Velcro’s in under the main screen, so with the main screen open, you can see our but others cannot see in. Huge benefit of this over other makes is that there are no fittings screwed to the bodywork. It all fits using doors and windows.
My first one did not fit correctly as there was a misunderstanding over my exact model, however, I popped into their workshop at Sheffield and they made another while I waited ( I actually spent the time giving the van interior a good clean!)
Good kit, god value, good service

I’m guessing that a black one would be ideal for winter sports enthusiasts as it’d absorb heat from the sun and help a little with retaining warmth in the van.

Conversley, putting a black screen on in the summer would be the last thing I’d do!

Excellent Kit,however, the Black does degrade fairly rapidly if exposed to Sun, if your Med bound god for Silver.

As people have said they are fab, as for colour go for what suits your van best in my case black looked better I thought

Yeah I liked the black but good lady just wanted silver again. As I said earlier, having spoken with the company the different colours make absolutely no difference to the properties of the screen for heat loss/build up or condensation prevention. All identical apparently.

Another happy Minster Products customer here. Bought a standard cover for my Hymer just over a year ago. Fast delivery and a high quality product. Just what we all want.

Just after I put the initial thread on here, I contacted Minster products to inform them I had done and that the feed back was to say the least extremely positive.
I did a review for them which they posted on their site in the testimonials.
As they are extremely approachable and helpfull, I suspect if someone who administers/runs this forum were to approach them they may well offer a discount code to use ordering from them direct (like John Cross discount). Caroline Hansen was my point of contact.
Would`nt benefit me as I think the screen will last a good few years, but going by replies here a few subscribers are looking to buy.
Just a thought.

Only very minor thing about the screen, the tab loops for tieing cord to the door handles could do with being a bit higher so you can get them tied a bit tighter with cord or whatever.
So I used 2 x 75mm Ball toggle cords (each side) joined them together after feeding them through the tab loop as the ball diameter is larger than diameter of the loop. Works great.
Before anyone asks why not just use 1 larger cord each side. Because they were lieing about and they get a better grip securing around the 2 ball ends ( this is not a P take).
Apparently 2 balls are better than 1

It's a (y) from me too! Purchased a black one from them about 6 months ago and don't suffer with condensation anymore. Be sure to let them know if you have Remis cab blinds fitted.

Our black one looked great when new, but it has faded over the months with the hot, British sun bearing down on it. Still looks and works a treat ?

Perhaps they should make a grey one Gender neutral ???
