What do you consider to be the minimum requirements for a meet/rally?

If you see anything I've missed, add a mini poll in your reply

Field, water and dumping, marque if it's cold and or wet.. hard standing in winter.. so a school playground would be better than a soggy field. .. the MCC use these.

thats the utilities taken care of.

The location would also be a major consideration..

for example.. is there dog walking close by.. or close to a beach.. etc.

last of all .. how far away is it from home.. no hard a fast rule here but I wouldn't want to drive say more than 100 miles to get there for a weekend meet.. further if it were a week or more.

That just about says it all for us too. Ideally, the location would be on a bus route, or within close walking distance of a train station.

Cheers,

Jock & Rita.

Inverter d extra batteries, recharged during the day via solar or wind generator. How many Watts is the equipment?

Just checked with the tech guy at the hospital on Friday and def need EHU. He was adamant about it. Two machines need pure sine wave, the other will work on moderated. Will check the wattage but we need a 16 Amp hook up on site so I guess it's quite a big draw.

He also said that if we were to run them off mains we would be liable for any damage.

over a Year Yay................
A theme for the weekend like a meet close to an activity park or attraction would suit some where as a straight meet in a field with the intention of drinking would suit others but its still a theme or planned activity.

You must have Igor to switch them on at night.

Just going on what the tech at the hospital said. Once the stuff is running it probably doesn't draw too much, it's just the initial ramp / warm up that draw the power. I can miss a single night but DH can't and I don't want to be a young widow!

I don't mean it like that, but I can hear the sparks as Igor throws the big blade switch.

No laughing matter for you, but we humans ease problems by laughing at them.

It is a problem that you may not be properly equipped for. What happens if you are away and the EHU cable is nicked ? Should you have a good sine wave inverter to keep you going even if it means running the engine to generate the power.

Try and get those power figures, we may be able to offer advice.

I think you may be putting to much faith in ehu, if my life deepened on it i would be looking for a back up. you only need the van else where to draw to much and the lot may well go down. And if you asked the ehu provider, telling them your situation they would say it is not secure. This is my own opinion but i think you may need to be aware. But good on you for getting on with life. :thumb:

Absolute minimum for me would be somewhere I can switch the engine off and pull the handbrake on.

Preferred minimum would be water, waste disposal and some where out of the wind and rain to natter/drink.

Luxury would be nearby shop, pub and takeaway places.

Please be aware that some sites offering ehu will be of a generator/s which may well NOT be pure sine as they would be very very expensive and for most times not required.
