Van conversion
Hi,
In the past, I've been looking into a halogen oven for our converted camper but more recently, had the opportunity to use a household mini oven and certainly would prefer a 30 litre oven in the camper. I have room under the bed to store it but is it safe to use? I'd be using it when hooked up at a campsite.
My concern is the one I used is a cheap and chearful igenix mini oven....but when its on, the back and sides get very hot...as in you would burn your hand on it.
Is is the case that all mini ovens are like this or perhaps the more expensive ones are better insulated?
Anyone even used a mini oven in a camper....would it in some way affect your insurance? I know, lots of questions. Many thanks

Sorry, can't help with the mini oven question, but I carry a halogen oven and it works really well - it even makes great toast!

We use one similar to this, yes it does get hot, but cools down quickly, just need to make sure there is plenty of space around it.

This is what we use now, it folds inside itself and sits in the cupboard. 😁

We have a couple of mini ovens - a 9 litre one for garlic bread(!), and a 30 litre one for bigger stuff (pizza, etc.), and both get hot, but cool quickly as golly said...... (y)

We have a mini oven bought at Aldi , i think it was under £30 . It is absolutely fabulous worth every penny . It grills , bakes , fan oven. It is so good we bought another for use at home .
When we ordered our new motorhome from hymer we decided that the option of a £300.00 +oven was not worth it and had drawers fitted instead. Best decision we made , no more noisy rattling fixed oven in the van. Now we store our Aldi oven in the garage and get it out when needed . Just found out its not avalible anymore see Broken Link Removed . I am sure they will soon have another on offer

Aldi and Lidl usually bring mini ovens into their special buys as youngsters head off to uni

I admit we carry a combi microwave/fan oven. A bit heavier but far more useful when on EHU
