we were heading for Gastes Aire when we decided to carry on a bit further to Mimizan as we hadn't been there before. We are on the Mimizan plage heliport aire and the only thing between us and the most gorgeous beach is a sand dune. The aire is not even half full so loads of space. It's so lovely we have decided to stay a few days and cycle the area. The joys of motor-homing

But more to the point. Is there any diesel?

This may explain why it is quiet, the locals are staying put to save fuel.

Or they are off picketing the nearest refinery.

The roads have seemed very quiet and we had no trouble getting fuel although it was restricted in northern France.

We said exactly that when we saw how deep the beach was, just like Goa but a lot cooler

As said earlier, it does get considerably busier in season. They also hold a local bicycle race which ends the other side of town. It's normally about this time of year. Enjoy
