There are many funsters pulling out of rallies..dont blame them, all have their own reasons, but we still intend to come and if the rally is cancelled we will be wilding up north whatever.

I too don't blame anyone either . We are both just fortunate that we have age on our sides and no underlying health problems. The last thing I would want is for anyone to become ill but at the end of the day we are all grown up and responsible for ourselves.

yes sorry didn't spot that but I think it may have been after the advise to stay at home but anyhow stay safe.

Sorry everyone. This meet is now POSTPONED. The kayaking centre is now on lockdown to June 30th. A replacement weekend date of 3rd or 16th July is provisional but a NEW list of interested parties will be posted in the near future.

Meet will be full at 15 vans in order we can try to obtain some sort of social distancing whether being required to or not.

PS: I'm hoping this meet will tie in with Hawick which is the weekend before or after.

Having discussed this meet with Millport they are happy for it to go ahead once lockdown is lifted and the ferries are running.

Once NS confirms this...Watch this space for a new date.

Unfortunately we are definately out as we live in North Wales and travel is currently limited to 5 miles (we can't even make it over the border to England). The next Welsh update is on 19th June and would not come into force until 22nd so if Scotland opens up then i hope all you funsters that do attend have a great time but unfortunately not us. See you all at Millport next year. Xx

That'll give you a month to get there . JULY my dear. The earliest date for Scotland tourism beginning is 15th July

Welsh government indecisive, travel no chance. Can't even get an ice cream at the sea front

Well we should've all been arriving in Millport today, and guess what..The weather is lovely just now.


I know, I know ..Ok I'm putting the cart before the horse here but feel I need to give folk a bit of update and advanced notice of the intended meet. This is the plan but awaiting confirmation.
Firstly there will be NO HIRING of kayaks this year from the outdoor centre. however you can hire a sit on one from here with lifejacket (if its open). Not advisable if you have a bad back. <Broken link removed>.

Andy63 has kindly offered to let anyone have a go on his kayak.

Scotlands tourism has to resume on the 15th July so if that date goes ahead and ferries resume my plan is to hold the meet 16th-20th for 4nights. This is a set fee of £40 per van.

It is up to each and everyone of us to be responsible for social distancing between us. The meet is being held full at 15 vans.

In the remote off chance of a reserve list appearing once the list has confirmed a £10 non refundable deposit will be required and will follow the same format as last year. Cancel your place and your deposit will go towards a group BBQ on Fri night 7pm weather permitting We have Mew and Shiela volunteered to do the cooking.

We’ve only got small gap for our holidays as schools are back earlier now and I need to be back in school 2-3 weeks before to set up as moving stages and need to organise for SD.

If you are going to meet family or friends NS said you don't have to stick to the 5 miles.

Great to hear you are coming. There shouldn't be any 5 mile limit by Millport time. You and everyone else will be responsible for your own social distancing, I won't be held responsible. Lets hope the midges play nice. We haven't been in July before.
