Hi all,

Someone who'd attended this gathering before suggested to us that the ferry should be avoided at certain times if you have a long rear overhang (on your van!). Is this the case and is it low or high tide to be careful about?

From a tide table I've found, it looks like there is a high tide at Largs soon after 4pm on the 8th June.

The slipway is at the same angle no mater what tide is like low tide just makes the slip longer. I’ve got a tag axle A class with a large overhang and make it on and off this ferry no problem. As you drive off try and take a slight angle. Hope this helps

Best to try crossing as near to high tide as possible. Avoid low tide although Micknmew have crossed at low tide in a 7.6m van with no problems, on the other hand Bluebob vans is much shorter and grounded last year. I will post the tide times several days before, they are usually more accurate.
