Miller Field - Aire - Ambleside (1 Viewer)

Hi just been to Ambleside and saw a number of MH on and by a large car park.. There was a notice saying the Aire is closed, but in the car park and adjacent field there were 10/15 motorhomes. Does anyone know if there is or not wild camping allowed, and how to access it.

It would probably be a rally, organised legally using the exemption certificate of the club concerned.

What if you sit up in bed, watching the telly all night, or reading, or doing whatever else people might do in bed?

Took me a while to find it, if your on Facebook its in the group Campervan Overnight Parking and just put Ambleside in their search.
I have copied one of the comments from the post "Graham has just advised there's a 10 van limit so it's advisable to text him in advance with your reg number and date(s) and he'll confirm availability. T: 07708310986"

Someone else has started a new post and they are actually there just now, might be worth phoning just for confirmation.

A 10 van limit implies a licensed site so either he has managed to persuade the Lake District NPA or he is chancing it again
MCC Northern Area has a rally scheduled for there in April.
